A HUGE thank you to our Baygrass volunteers! ❤️

We recently received a note from one of our volunteers that reminded us why this team is so special:

"I'd never been on East Beach until I stepped into volunteering here three years ago, a novice to the jamgrass scene. Absolutely. Hooked. My life changed at noon on September 23, 2023... It is absolutely a palpable, overwhelming euphoria that exists at Baygrass. Over and over, I hear one word to describe it: 'perfect.' The smiles are measured in megatons. I am so grateful to be part of this."

From our Green Team and b**r pourers to our merch, parking, and crews - you are the heartbeat of this festival.

You show up early, stay late, and bring the warmest energy to our festival because you believe in what Baygrass is all about: great music, community, protecting the Chesapeake Bay, and supporting mental wellness.

We truly couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for giving your time, energy, and heart to Baygrass.

𝐀 𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫:

I’ll start by saying - Wow! What a mighty fine time we had at Baygrass last weekend!

Sam Bush and his band, joined by guest artists Allie Kral & Cris Jacobs, ended the festival with an encore of “Sitting on Top of the World” by Walter Vinson & Lonnie Chatmon of the Mississippi Sheiks. It was the perfect song because after a weekend filled with so much joy, love, and incredible music, we were all sitting on top of the world.

The performances were outstanding from the very beginning - starting with Melody Trucks singing the National Anthem as we looked out at the flag on the beach overlooking the Bay in perfect weather. Every band & every song seemed to build on the one before it, creating one very special weekend.

Saturday night brought a personal dream come true for me. Little Feat - one of my all-time favorite bands since childhood - played an amazing two-hour set, including a collaboration with Sam Bush that mixed bluegrass jams with Little Feat’s unmistakable blend of Southern rock, funk, and New Orleans groove. That mash-up gave me an unforgettable festival moment that will be hard to top.

I want to thank my partners, Ron Katz & John Way, & our incredible year-round team, festival crew, & volunteers who pour their hearts & souls into creating this magical festival. These are creative, smart, hardworking, & passionate people who care deeply about producing an experience that our guests will cherish.

Immense gratitude also to our artists, nonprofit conservation & mental wellness partners, sponsors, & vendors who help make Baygrass so much more than a great music festival.

But above all, thank you to every Baygrasser who attended this year. We had our first Saturday sellout in four years! That is a huge milestone for us. Thank you for believing in Baygrass and buying tickets. This is not an easy business, & I’m proud that we have created something you want to be part of and, in many cases, truly love. Me too!

We can’t wait to see you all next year for the 2027 Annapolis Baygrass Music Festival - September 18 & 19! Please spread the love, and have a happy and healthy year!
