Being the bowler that I am I did some research. There is a difference in The Special Olympics in The US and The UK with bowling. In The US as everyone knows 10 pins is the most popular form of bowling, with limited duckpins and candle pins up in New England. Although as far as I know only 10 pin is offered in The Special Olympics but I'd need to do additional research on that one. In The UK there is bowling which is the traditional 10 pins but, there is also a game called bowls where you aim at a target and the ball hooks on grass. Unlike boccee where the ball goes straight. We have bowling and boccee here in the US but there are many variations of bowling in The UK. I will need to do my research to get more informed about all these differences.

The 2024 Fall bowling is complete and I celebrated the beginning of my 32nd season in The Special Olympics with my 22nd gold medal, 21 of those gold medals were won in bowling.

The fact that I had 10 strikes and 16 spares totalling 26 overall marks is a good start to week 1 of the 2024 spring season.

Week 1 for Special Olympics bowling is in the books, I knocked down 519 pins yesterday afternoon. I never thought I would say this but I am becoming more comfortable with the lanes at Annandale. Patients and focus are key factors in the improvements as well as adjustments and altering ball speed.

Departure time is getting closer only 134 more hours until we are on 395 / 95 south headed to Virginia Beach. The 2023 fall games is fast approaching. Of course I have bowling on Sunday afternoon ,Tuesday morning and Wednesday evening. Then 10 hours after Wednesday bowling out the door we go to Virginia Beach

Yesterday in game 3 of Special Olympics bowling I bowled this 203 game at Bowlero Annandale in Annandale,Va. My first 200 game at Annandale in 721 days that is almost 2 years. I am not going to get too far ahead of myself but take it one frame, game and week at a time. Moving on to week 6 next Sunday I believe I have a brand new outlook on dealing with Bowlero Annandale.

The 2023 fall Special Olympics season has begun. My 31st season with The Special Olympics as an athlete begins in 16 days on the 10th of Sept 2023.

Everyone have a great summer and get ready for the 2023 - 24 season in a couple of months. For the bowlers out there this is the perfect time to take care of equipment issues. Even possibly getting your own bowling ball and shoes if you have not done so already.
