Bellwether Farm is a microfarm in Chelsea, MI raising Shetland sheep! They offer yarn from their flock in a wide range of weights and natural colors, along with hand dyed shades made with
low-impact dye practices. Because they're a very small farm, they make the most of what they have using regenerative agricultural practices and rotational grazing. Stop by and see them at the Fiber Expo!"

Good morning Expo friends! We’re rolling right along with our vendor highlights! Next is a truly special and unique farm here in Michigan: Natural Cycles Farm is a small diversified farm in Allegan, MI. They operate our farm in a climate beneficial way, using holistic grazing methods, increasing carbon in the soil and building carbon rich wool. Their sheep are Tunis, CVM, and unique fiber crosses who grow beautiful wool. They specialize in using natural dyes for their roving, batts, and yarns and offer a range of natural colored rovings and combed top. They also offer a range of natural dye kits using both dye materials from their farm and elsewhere so you can create fiber in these wonderful colors! Shepherd and fiber artist Lori Evesque has been into fiber since she was a child and has blossomed as an artist since going full time into sheep farming and fiber in 2017.

Next up for our vendor highlight is Fehrenbach farm! Here’s a bit that they shared with us!

We are Fehrenbach Fibers, a local grower of all things llama and alpaca. We also offer many items from other wool sources as well! I am a hand
-spinner, felter, dyer, and maker of many fine batts. This year we
will also be offering Woolbuddies for those who are interested in beginning felting. My booth is very eclectic with a multitude of fiber goodness. I will be bringing batts, roving bumps, mill-spun and hand-spun yarns in both natural colors and indie dyed, and felting equipment. I am usually taking advantage of the time from the farm to create fun and whimsical batts on site for those interested in seeing the process. We love to answer questions about llamas and alpacas, as well as sharing information about our award winning herd.

The Fiber Expo Story

All are welcome to Fiber Expo that features vendors with great products, fiber animals and TONS of fun in Ann Arbor, Michigan!!!

Twelve years ago Fiber Expo was just an idea started on a road-trip with a friend who was driving one of her alpacas to North Carolina to be bred. What a trip it was and has been ever since. Newly retired and at loose ends one thing led to another and Fiber Expo was born. My love of natural fiber products combined with a lot of planning and brain storming and we have been up and running ever since. The story continues today, come visit us and share our love of gorgeous fiber made into incredible wearable art.
