This Saturday's halftime performance by The University of Michigan Marching Band, “Welcome to the Roaring 20's!”, begins with “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” recorded by Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock for the soundtrack to the 2013 film, The Great Gatsby. Next, we'll perform “And All That Jazz” (1975) from the musical Chicago. The show will conclude with “Five Foot Two, Eyes of Blue” which was first recorded by The California Ramblers in 1925. The marching formations throughout the performance are visually inspired by Art Deco design.

Saturday's performance, features musical arrangements by Michigan alumnus, former Michigan Marching Band Director, and current Western Michigan University Director of Bands, Dr. Scott Boerma (M.Mus ’92). The drill is by Dr. Richard Frey, with percussion arrangements by Percussion Instructor and Assistant Instructor, Professor Chuck Ricotta and Nigel Fernandez, respectively, along with flag choreography by Flag Instructor, Professor Joan Noble-Pruett.

This Saturday's halftime performance by The University of Michigan Marching Band, “Blue Planet,” is a celebration of four global habitats of our planet earth, narrated by Carl Grapentine. The show will conclude with music from the movie Lawrence of Arabia (1962), and the 1992 hit from Aladdin, “Prince Ali.”

Saturday’s performance features musical arrangements by Michigan alumnus and former MMB graduate assistant Dr. Andrew Putnam (M.Mus ‘10), drill by Dr. Chester Phillips, with percussion arrangements by the Marching Band’s Percussion Instructor and Assistant Instructor, Professor Chuck Ricotta and Nigel Fernandez, respectively, along with flag choreography by Flag Instructor, Professor Joan Noble-Pruett.

"We Choose to Go," honors the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and its technological advances along with the people whose efforts have made space exploration possible. We celebrate the long-standing collaborative relationship NASA and the University of Michigan have had over time.

The show features both wind arrangements and drill design by Dr. Richard Frey, with percussion arrangements by the Marching Band’s Percussion Instructor, Prof. Chuck Ricotta, and flag choreography by Flag Instructor, Prof. Joan Noble-Pruett.

The MMB’s performance is a collection of medleys containing the 1995 movie soundtrack to “Apollo 13,” songs from Elton John “Rocket Man” (1972), Coldplay “A Sky Full of Stars” (2014), David Bowie’s “Space Oddity” (1969), and the main theme to the 2013 movie "Star Trek Into Darkness." During the MMB’s closer, we will be joined by the NASA Administrator and 250 students from the College of Engineering.
