Education Reform band Ann Arbor Debut at LIVE
Education Reform, a rock band from Queens, New York, is making their Ann Arbor debut at LIVE on September 5, to celebrate the release of their EP, The Push-Back is Missing. Formed keyboardist and vocalist, Aaron Kruziki, original songs from the new EP reflect the band’s mission to utilize music as an agent for opening public dialogue and creating social change. Led by Western Michigan University alumnus Kruziki (’05), band members include Zach Lane on bass, Jon Wert on drums, and Travis Reuter on guitar. Education Reform’s distinctive sound, highlighted by off-kilter, dream-like melodies and Kruziki’s crooning vocals, can be described as a mix between a 1970s space opera, your favorite David Bowie record, and that mysterious leather trunk you found in your grandfather’s musty basement. Quirky, catchy tracks like “Collective Bargaining” and “Listen to The Multiplication” are numbers to put on your listening radar. The band’s premiere EP was recorded and produced by Ian Hersey, guitarist of rising indie rock band, Rubblebucket. Adding visual strength to the project is artist Kelly Chilton, who’s provoking series of collectable merch for Education Reform are undeniably charming for fans of all ages. Come out for an Education Reform show to experience the everlasting fun of being strange.
