AND THEN THERE WAS ONE…OF MANY…great folks who busted ass to pull off the 2026 Frogtown Classic International BMX Days in Angels Camp. While we didn’t have the turn out we had hopes after the fire cancellation last year, we still were in the “putting smiles on people’s faces” business for four days.
I think 60 total motos for
Friday, 4Star Series. Saturday vintage and Sunday California Cup. We were more than ready for more. Track was on point we heard. Race organization was on point, starting on time. Legends Autograph signing was as big as ever. Bike show had 140+ bikes, raised around $20K for John Crews and his cause for Parkinson’s, organized first “Beginner BMX orientation clinic, had a really cool freestyle BMX show…all tee’d up…for just few more peeps.
Whether big or small, it takes the same amount of dedicated sponsors, staff and volunteers to make it happen for all. I wish to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart, and while I might not show it all the time during “the heat of the battle” I do appreciate your time, hard work and passion to be in this with Johnny and myself.
I also want to make a special shout out to the local Angels Camp and Calaveras County businesses and residents who have supported us since Year 1 and we really appreciate you all.
What started in 2021 was just an idea. An idea that caught fire and spread across the country and globe and you all can be proud that YOU were part of creating THIS THING that everyone now loves.
They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and this is the perfect example.
2027 will be the 50th Anniversary for racing BMX on THAT hill in Angels Camp, CA. And while we don’t know yet what will go on you can bet we are thinking, analyzing, pre-organizing, brain farting, etc. on how to make it as memorable as ever.
More smiles to be made.
Thank you all who were part of it.
Todd
