Probably one of the best birthdays ever...

- Morning haircut with Bae

- Afternoon "Rare Plant Festival" (IN GREENVILLE...I snagged 5 new green babies)

- Then caught an evening movie: "Exhibiting Forgiveness"...WHEW

Michaela made history as the youngest principal dancer with Dance Theatre of Harlem

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Michaela Mabinty DePrince, a trailblazing ballerina whose talent, grace, and resilience inspired Brown Ballerinas around the world. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, and all who were touched by her extraordinary light. She leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire for generations to come. 💔🕊

Looks like we’re taking a trip to Atlanta! Our short film “Dear Brown Girl” is an official selection of the Black Girls Rock! Film Festival!

Based on TaKiyah Wallace-McMillian’s photo project turned non-profit organization Brown Girls Do Ballet®, “Dear Brown Girl” is a love letter to brown ballerinas everywhere that aims to encourage and inspire them as they follow their dreams.

Collaborating with and is the stuff of dreams. And witnessing the talent and brilliance of brown ballerinas nationwide brings so much joy to this dance mama’s heart.

Thank you all for taking the ride with me. And buckle up cause we’re just getting started. 😉
