Great Alaska Off Road Handcycle Challenge

Hi all. I regret to inform you that the Great Alaska Off Road Handcycle Challenge will be cancelled for this year (2013). We had an overwhelming amount of interest, but unfortunately we didn't have enough actual registrations. With an event of this scope, we needed early registrations to secure sponsorships. Without those registrations we weren't about to secure adequate funding to run the race.
If there is enough interest (and individuals willing to register) we may be able to hold the race in 2014.

Time for an update as Summer approaches....
We have had an overwhelming amount of interest in the event, and many individuals who have expressed interest in attending, however the number of registrations is still very low. We are hopeful that registrations will pick up, but in the even that we aren't able to get enough participants we will be forced to have to cancel the event for this year. So, if you plan on attending, please register!

Here's the Day 3 Half Marathon course video. There is a fair amount of paved path in this course, and some very fast paved and off road sections. The last mile and a half of this course is the real treat... but you'll have to attend the race to see what that's all about.

Here's the Day 2 Single Track course. This course is like a wooded roller coaster. Since trails can change from year to year, the final course will be set a couple weeks before the race in July and will have a minimum 36" of clearance from objects like trees or large rocks.

We're starting to get the course videos posted to the event YouTube page. For now we're getting the 60 and 90 second course overview videos posted. We should have all the videos up by the end of weekend.
Day 1- Time Trial- Should be fast! There are some very fast downhill sections to the course and some decent climbs, though the up hill sections aren't featured in the video. The course is about 65% off road, and 35% paved path.

Monday, July 8- Bike setup & Tuning, Time Trial
Tuesday, July 9- Single Track & Mixed Trail 15k
Wednesday, July 10th- Mixed Trail 1/2 marathon
Thursday, July 11th- Hill Climb & Descent
Friday, July 12th- Criterium, Awards, and Closing
