The Iowa BBQ Society Banquet is fast approaching.
The banquet is scheduled for Saturday, January 31st at 5 PM. It will be held and the Courtyard by Mariott in Ankeny, IA.
Registration is open on the website at iabbq.org under the events tab. Registration will close on Sunday, January 25th.
Get signed up soon and we hope to see everyone there to celebrate the 2025 season and look forward to a great year in 2026.

Judges scores have been emailed to all teams that cooked at SNP. Please let me know if you didn't receive an email. Might as well mark your calanders now, 5th annual SNP October 3rd 2026, you won't want to miss this one! Good luck to you all out on the BBQ trail.

Wow, what an amazing turn out for Smoke 'N' Pumpkins 2025! Huge shout out to all the teams that competed and it was truly an honor to host you. Congratulations to Chester's Twisted Que on GC for the second year in a row!!! Also Bbq Pit Bros on RGC and first place in the Bloody Mary Comp. Congratulations to Triple D BBQ on taking home the Francis W. Dutton sportsmanship award, and Family Tradition Bbq on the 50/50 raffle winner! Thank you to Matt F for all of your help, so glad you decided to help organize this comp! Also thank you to Cameron & Sawyer for all of your help! Thanks to Lyn Burkes and the Iowa BBQ Society for everything! Thanks to William Tuthill for the amazing trophies and Matt Appelhans for Hanging our banner. Who's excited for the 4th annual Smoke 'N' Pumpkins BBQ Competition? The field is set, meat is ordered, now we are just waiting for Saturday! I want to give a big thank you to William Tuthill and his shop students at the Anamosa High School for these amazing trophies! We will be hosting 13 teams from all corners of Iowa and Illinois to cook Ribs & Chicken sponsored by Anamosa Fareway Stores. Turn in times will be at 1:00pm and 1:30pm with awards to follow. Stop by the Anamosa Bowling Center and Alley 9 Lounge and check out these amazing cooks! There will be a 50/50 raffle (tickets available all day with the drawing after awards and you do NOT have to be present to win). Also a Bloody Mary Competition (bbq teams only) awards at 11:30. The BBQ world lost a great guy yesterday. 5 years ago I met Francis for the first time and asked him for help starting Smoke 'N' Pumpkins, I was amazed at his passion for all things BBQ and willingness to help. Francis has been the IBS Rep. For Smoke 'N" Pumpkins since day 1. He has been a great friend and mentor to me and many others. Rest in peace buddy.
