Hey Anacortes Disc Golf Crew, 3/10/26

Happy Spring ya'll (almost). I wanted to do a quick update on disc golf here in Anacortes as we start rolling into light-longer days. Note: The Most Important Update is #4!

1st - You all are awesome! Colin and I love seeing everybody out throwing! Seriously, our Anacortes disc golf crew is amazing. Also, Way to go Team disc golfers. Sounds like it's been a fun season. Finish strong!

2nd - Cap Sante Rotary DGC is looking great. We have 2 teepads left to build (14 & 18). These have taken longer due to the city needing to approve the engineering for these platforms, which is slightly more advanced than the other teepads we built. I will continue to pursue this approval and will let you know when it happens so we can get to building. That should happen this summer. Regarding invasive plants, keep pulling Ivy, Daphne, and Holly (but no Oregon Grape), as they are ramping up. And keep picking up trash as well. Thanks.

3rd - Marvin Garden DGC on Guemes Island is looking amazing. JJ did a great job with this design, and Colin and I both love playing it. It sounds like JJ is going to be redesigning 1 of the holes. Highly recommend getting over there to try it if you haven't yet. Great job JJ!

4th - The construction on the NEW GOLD LEVEL Course in North Whidbey Island that Eric Dipzinski Dip's Discs and Eric Mcabe are masterminding is moving forward! I talked with Eric Dipzinski today and he said that Holes 1-10, and Hole 18 are cut in. That's great news. The other holes are starting to be worked on. There is a paid crew from the City of Oak Harbor that continues to put in regular hours on the course.

NOW FOR US VOLUNTEERS - A WORK PARTY is coming up soon for all of us to help out. Our primary job on that day will be to walk a selected hole throwing all the downed limbs from construction into the rough on the sides. While simple, this is a vital role of course building, which will greatly help in. At the end of the work day, we plan to set up a temp basket or 2 and play some games! Stay tuned for that announcement very soon, probably at the end of Marh or beginning of April!

That's it. Holler at me if I'm missing anything. Have fun throwing discs, and if anybody ever aces Hole 15, then we'll make a plaque for you somewhere, cause that's impossible!

Peace.
Aaron Bryant

Quick shout out to JJ for taking the Anacortes disc golf scene to the next level this past year with leading the charge with TAGS and donating some tools to the course to help maintain our tee pads. Jonathan JJ VanderSchuur, you're a stud. Thanks for your efforts.

And to all of you involved in TAGS this year, way to get after it! Colin and I have been bummed to not be able to join you very often, but we're stoked about the local scene growing. Keep on throwing!
