However...I wanted to add this info after the bad news post. When the issues caused in town by the C19 virus dies down, we will be pursuing the community karaoke contest for summer/fall of 2020. I have offered it to another non profit group who seem very interested. I am not at liberty to share the particulars yet as we have not finalized the logistics due to the meeting quarentine, but I am confident enough to post this. The format should stay the same....contests at local businesses...a public semi final and then the public finals. All of the dates are yet to be finalized, but we are excited to continue this fun event this spring and summer. I am sure Maddy has been practicing...and encourage you all to watch for more information about this great event. If you have any questions or ideas feel free to share and ask them. Hi gang...it's with much disappointment that I inform you that the AAH committee has decided not to pursue the 2020 summer program. Due to unanticipated delays within our community, and the brutal effects the C19 virus and quarantine has had on our local businesses, we did not feel comfortable pursueing donations or additional support for this year. We were willing to battle through the somewhat negative attitudes and what looked like roadblocks in our way to produce the summer event, but because this is funded by donations only, and ran by volunteers, we didn't feel right about continuing the process. If we feel there is adequate interest and support we will gladly revisit this for 2021. We hope to hear from you.

Hi all...touching base so I don't lose the excitement...I am working out some details ... but still planning on continuing the first annual community karaoke contest.. logistics may change but the excitement and fun won't!!!! Keep watching for info updates in the next few days. If all goes as planned I will re-start contacting the bars and venues in the next couple weeks. Keep practicing those songs!!!

Do to some very unfortunate and disappointing news I received this afternoon and evening...all functions dealing with AAH...karaoke contest included...will be placed on a temporary hold until we can get a better feel for the direction our county commissioners and the planning board are going to take concerning our permits. As was stated in the recent leader there are questions whether alcohol can be consumed in the Commons..and the window the committee has to review this concern will extend potentially into the middle or end of our anticipated season. I am not giving up completely as I have another idea which will be presented at the planning meeting 10 March..but I can not in good conscience move forward with promises and commitments concerning money without a better feel for the direction we will be allowed to pursue. I was well aware and realized we had to go thru a permitting and approval process...but the activities we are planning take more time than previous years to prepare..and the article has given me an uneasy feeling about the outcome. Please don't give up....practice your songs lol..and pay close attention to this page as well as other media resources....

Thank you all for the great feedback about Friday at the first Anaconda After Hours karaoke event at the JFK!!
As an update...I have been working on singing competitions for the very talented younger population of our town as well. I have a few businesses who have already agreed to sponsor a karaoke contest for 13 to 15 year olds as well as 16 to 20. I am also considering a young-uns contest to allow family bragging rights for the up and comers...but that's in the works. Open to ideas...but..follow us ..brag up the activity and watch for the next karaoke contest...coming very soon!
