The Spirit of the Blues festival was a great success!!! We would like to thank Alpena Blues Festival Downtown Alpena DDA Wolverine State Credit Union RE/MAX New Horizons - Alpena, Michigan Lappan Agency Auto-Owners Insurance Marine Market The Unlucky Cat Cafe Huron Distributors , the bands, all of the distilleries and representatives, and all of you who volunteered or worked in some way to help make this amazing event happen, we could not have done it without all of your hard work, we are forever grateful!!! Also thank you to all of the people who attended, we truly hope you enjoyed yourselves!!! Cheers!!!

Our shuttle will be a black Chrysler town and country van... it will be making the following stops

RV campground us23 south 10:30 to 10:40
Fair grounds 11 to 11:15
Ramada 11:30-11:40
Days inn 12-12:10
Best Western 12:15-12:30
Long lake campground 1-1:15

Drop offs will start at 8 pm- the van will be parked behind harborside cycle and drop offs will be on demand until 12:30am

Tomorrow is the big day!!! The Music starts at 12pm gates open at 11!!! The Craft Spirits tent will be open from 3-9pm!! The Unlucky Cat Cafe Marine Market and Chocolate Freaking Bacon will be here serving delicious food from their stands and Coco Montoya will be headlining the bands and melting your minds!!!

We are only 5 short days away from a bluesy good time in the streets of downtown Alpena!! This is a family friendly event with many activities planned and a mission to help stamp out hunger, and promote the blues in schools!! Stop by the Alpena Downtown Development Authority tent for kids activities!! For the adults you should stop in to the Craft Spirits tent for a cocktail before making your way down to see spectacular performances by Way Out Wayne and the Neckbenders, Ellie Lee Band, Downriver Dan, The Smoking 45’s, The Blues Abusers and Coco Montoya!! You will not want to miss out!

Did you know the Spirit of the Blues is happening in downtown Alpena on June 22nd? Les Cheneaux Distillers is a new micro-distillery and brewery located in the heart of the Eastern Upper Peninsula, the Les Cheneaux Islands. The Spirit of the Blues will be featuring this whiskey in our craft spirits tent!! Who’s coming to taste??

At the Spirit of the Blues we are trying to raise awareness about liquor made right here in Michigan by our neighbors and friends, that not only “stands up“ to the internationally recognized bottles but in many ways are superior to their out of state competitors! It is very important for all of us Michiganders to support local companies and raise ourselves up above the world and set the standard for products for others to follow!! Educate yourself and participate in buying locally and we will all contribute to a beautiful future for Michigan, it’s companies, and its citizens!!!
