Experience the newest exhibition, I AM by mixed-media artist Miles Perry, at the Harvard Ed Portal Crossings Gallery. The I AM series explores authentic human experiences through layered portraits of people connected to Boston, Allston, and Cambridge, and transforms everyday neighbors who have shaped our city, into powerful works of art.

In celebration of its opening, you're invited to join us on September 17 for an artist reception and talk with special guest Sarah Lewis, Associate Professor at Harvard University who will offer introductory remarks, followed by a conversation with Perry and two community leaders featured in the exhibition, Sophia Dubuisson and Dart Adams.

Next month, Project Teach returns to Harvard's campus, giving local 7th grade students the chance to explore college life, connect with undergraduate mentors at the Crimson Key Society, and discover new academic interests through engaging experiences throughout the day with Harvard faculty.

By introducing students to higher education early, Project Teach helps spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage young people to envision themselves on a college campus.

Stay tuned for behind-the-scenes looks as the program gets underway!

Let's dive into the world of Boston's footwear, apparel, and performing arts scene.

This September, the Harvard Ed Portal and Osamase Ekhator, Founder of Best: A Creative Agency, is bringing you Kicks and Culture, a one-day conference dedicated to spotlighting the many career pathways into these creative industries, and to challenge conventional career narratives and demonstrate that creative pursuits can lead to meaningful professional opportunities.

Osamase Ekhator is a Boston based poet, author, and spoken word artist. He has also worked with Citizens Bank Financial Group, US Soccer Federation, Nike, and now, New Balance as a Concept Manager in Innovation. In 2026, Osamase was named as one of “25 Rising Stars Building The Future of Sports” by Corey Bernstine, Adjunct Professor at SFU.

Ekhator's own career path took him from English major to banker to poet to New Balance, proving that his lifelong love for sneakers, design, and the arts could become a creative career possibility. At Kicks and Culture, you'll hear his story and others through fireside chats, performances, and networking, and learn what it takes to start yours.

Follow us along for more details about our guest speakers and performers. Learn more about Kicks and Culture happening Friday, September 25 at hrvd.me/creative-careers !

✏️ 🔮 ❣️ For artists, Ansis Purins and Blipblipbeep, their mural "All This, All at Once" began with tiny doodles of quirky creatures and critters.

At their most recent workshop, they had us getting really creative, doodling! We had the chance to hear about their process and then enjoyed time to free sketch vintage toys and characters, and even gave blindfold drawing a try. Thanks to all who joined us at the Harvard Ed Portal for this event!

As we wrap up another series of yoga with Taryn Burns at the Ed Portal, we're reminded that wellness is for every body. For some, yoga is a chance to build strength and improve mobility. For others, it's an hour to slow down, reset, and leave feeling lighter than when they walked in. ☺️

🙏🏼 Thank you, Taryn, for guiding us in these wonderful sessions and thanks to all who joined us!
