GVSU Project Donation

GVSU Project Donation DON'T throw it away DONATE Items that are collected include non-perishable food, clothing, household items, small appliances and furniture.

Project Donation is a collaborative effort between Facilities Services and Housing to give students the opportunity to donate items they no longer want or will use to non-profit organizations in the West Michigan area. In the past ten year, the GVSU community has donated 59,505 pounds of food, clothing, furniture, household items, and small appliances to West Michigan non-profit agencies such as S

alvation Army, Mel Trotter, Adopt a Block, Love Inc of Allendale, and Rays of Hope. For this year we are working with three non-profit organizations: Adopt-A-Block, Rays of Hope, and Ripple Effect. Adopt-a-block has collaborated with project donation since 2008. Since this partnership, we have helped 200 families in the Walker area most single parent homes. Rays of Hope is volunteer based organization formed in 2000 to empower and support programs that are actively working in impoverished communities as a non-government organization. We have a mission of inclusiveness of humanitarian aid to all people in need. Last year the project exceeded their expectations by donating twice as many donations expected. We are happy to have them return for their second year
Ripple Effect is a new non-profit organization in Allendale that is dedicated to making an impact on missions and programs locally and around the world. Project Donation is also collaborating with NRHH this year who will help with distribution of boxes, set up of donation stations and promotion.
