- Behind the Scenes of Algonquin Founders' Days -

This past Monday, we hosted an open forum at our planning meeting that was requested by many in the community to share thoughts, ideas, and feedback about the future of the event.

We want to thank the six guests who took the time to show up, listen, and engage in the discussion. Your input is truly valued and appreciated.

Planning a community celebration takes time, heart, and helping hands. We are all stronger when more voices are involved.

Community Announcement!
We would like to inform you that we do host meetings on the 1st Monday of the month at Historic Village Hall.
We do sometimes move these around or cancel them as we are not required to have public meetings. We will continue to try to inform you if a change is made in scheduling.
This months meeting will be May 5th at Historic Village Hall at 7 pm.
We also would like to give you an idea of how those meetings are conducted.
1. We have to have a majority of board members in attendance to conduct a meeting. ( always a chance the meeting can not take place)
2. We will run a guest forum for roughly 30 min to hear from our guests.
3. After that we will adjorn to an executive session and will kindly ask the public to exit the meeting.

We’ve seen many passionate comments about where Founders' Days should be held. While we’re incredibly grateful for the love and memories tied to downtown, we want to remind everyone that Founders' Days is more than a location, it’s a celebration of the people who make Algonquin home.

We understand that the location holds meaning for many, and with that comes strong emotions. But please remember that our volunteers are your neighbors, a dedicated team that pours heart, time, and effort into trying to bring something special to Algonquin, even when the circumstances around the location are out of our control.

We kindly ask that when sharing your thoughts, passion is paired with consideration for the people who work hard behind the scenes and for those who continue to enjoy this event year after year.

We hope you’ll continue to cheer us on, share your ideas for future activities, and if you're able, lend a hand as we reimagine what’s possible.
