The old meets the new at the Mercer County Fair on Friday, July 10. New this year there will be an Antique Tractor Parade in front of the grandstand 30 minutes before the Truck and Tractor Pull. They will also be on display on the track on Thursday night. If you have an antique or older style tractor or know someone who might be interested you can contact Evan Seefeld for more information. 309/224-6033
Then the Backroad Pullers will show what the current tractors can do along with the trucks. So make plans to attend a night of tractor fun.

Tuesday, July 7 is the Queen Pageant, Wednesday, July 8 is the Flat Track Motorcycle Races at the Mercer County Fair but any guesses what Thursday, July 9th is? NIGHT OF DESTRUCTION!! Get there early as seating fills up fast. Truck and trailer races, bomber races, and mini hauler race trucks. But if you’ve never seen the appliance race or school bus races and derby you won’t want to miss it. Plan on getting there early and get something to eat and drink or check out the rest of the fairgrounds while you wait. You won’t be disappointed .

Where will you be in a month? Well at the Mercer County Fairgrounds watching the Flat Track Motorcycle races on Wednesday, July 8th of course. If you have never seen them it’s a must see. Speeds up to 100mph on a half mile track. Have both amateur and pro classes. Riders from all over the US and several international riders. Warmups begin at 4:00 with heats starting at 6:30 and the finals to follow.

Look at what’s happening a month from today! The Mercer County Fair Pageant on Tuesday, July 7 at 6:30. Come out and cheer on all the girls for all the hard work they have put in preparing to put on another get pageant. And what a fun night it will be as this year’s theme is “Boots and Bows”. And let’s give our 2025 Little Miss, Junior Miss, and our Queen a big send off and a big thank you for representing Mercer County this past year so well. None of this could happen if it wasn’t for Ledith, Elyse, and the entire pageant team. It truly does take a village to put it on. Thank you!!

FAIR FAIR FAIR

It’s Mercer County Fair time again. What a better way to spend time with family and friends. And you won’t find a better deal. Daily admission is only $6.00 and season passes $17.00, kids 7-12 $2.00. Something for everyone. Grandstand events are free. Keep watching as we will be frequently highlighting daily happenings.

Also don’t miss the Aledo America 250 celebration activities that will be held at the fairgrounds on July 4 starting at 3PM. Food, beer garden, kids activities and bounce houses, 3 live bands and of course fireworks but the best part is the lighted Drone Show!

Can you believe the 4th of July is only a month away? Start making your plans to attend Aledo’s America 250. Besides the annual morning activities at the Central Park bandshell this year there will be a fun filled afternoon and evening activities at the fairgrounds. Food, music, beer garden, kid’s activities, fireworks and this year a fantastic lighted drone show.

And there’s still time to enter the parade on Friday, July 3. Go to:

On behave of the Spike Heck Family and the Mercer County Fair Board, we would like to congratulate Mason Gray as the recipient of the 2026 Spike Heck Memorial Scholarship. Each Labor Day weekend the fair board sponsors a memorial tractor ride with the proceeds going towards the scholarship fund and with matching funds from the Heck family this 1,000 scholarship is awarded to any senior who will be attending a 4 year college, Jr college or trade school with a concentration in agriculture or conservation. If you will be a senior next year consider applying and if you want to participate in the Labor Day tractor ride more information with be posted later. Again congratulations Mason and best of luck with your future plans.

It’s not too late!!

Registration Is Open

We are still accepting contestants in all divisions:

👑 Little Miss (ages 6–9)

👑 Junior Miss (ages 11–14)

👑 Miss (ages 16–21)

We are still accepting Little Miss contestants. This division is limited to 25 participants.

This is such a special opportunity for young ladies to gain confidence, build friendships, and be part of something truly memorable at the fair.

If you haven’t checked with your school’s counselor or Ag teacher for information on the Spike Heck Scholarship, the deadline is March 15. If you know of a senior please encourage them to check it out.
