Hi guys....what do you guys think of the new GM, coach, and the slew of new players already picked up through FA. I am thrilled to see what will happen this season!

Hi guys....waiting for news from the prez regarding the new season, in the meantime I went through the mails that have been left here. The most asked question is where we meet. Even people I referred to the "about" page, look at it and still tell me they couldn't find the information? Seems FB is blocking the business name, Craft Republic, but it shows the address.

So....unless I hear otherwise, we are meeting at Craft Republic for all games, including the pre-season.

Skol!

Just had an interesting call. Chris Tommason, the Vikings reporter for the St. Paul Pioneer Press called. He found my home phone number through something that had been posted (not on FB) about Erasmus James being a member of the club, and he contacted me in hopes of reaching Erasmus.

Reporters are always looking for angles for a new story. The angle, Erasmus was selected 18th in the draft, and we have the 18th pick this time. There had only been one other Viking picked 18th.

He asked if there were more Vikings in the area and I only know about Jhurell Pressley who went to school here, but isn't from the area. If there are other Vikings in NM I suspect Chris would like to know about them. I could pass the info along if you have something for me.

Chris asked about the club, such as how many members, and was surprised by the number of members we have. I wouldn't guess the club will be mentioned in his article, but you never know.

You may want to keep track of the St. Paul Pioneer Press for the story he writes.

Since it is off season, there is time to do research, you know, the really important kind. When working on one of my websites http://roadsidenewmexico.com
I was on Vinepair looking around and found a stat about which NFL teams have the drunkest fans. I bet you assumed the Packer fans were the most drunk, but you would have been wrong, they ranked 9th whereas Vikings were ranked 6th.

The drunkest fans, the Cowboys, second, the Patriots, then the Saints, Cardinals, and then Colts followed by Vikings.

Saw something interesting on the Pioneer Press site. Seems whenever the topic of backup quarterback comes up, Trevor Siemian is never mentioned, but people seem to yearn for Kyle Sloter instead, currently QB3. Was surprised to see this headline:

"Vikings players wearing T-shirts with name of third-string QB Kyle Sloter"

"Kyle Sloter has never played in an NFL regular-season game, but his Vikings teammates are wearing T-shirts displaying his name.

The third-string quarterback attended Mount Pisgah Christian School in suburban Atlanta for his high school years. Two students at the school are big fans of Sloter, and they also happen to be sons of Waffle House executives."

"Waffle House is based in the Atlanta area, and the company agreed to print T-shirts that read “Sloter House” with the same lettering style as the restaurant.

“I was wearing one around here and everybody (on the Vikings) started asking me about them, so I got like 100 made and handed them out,’’ Sloter, a second-year player, said Thursday.

Many players have worn them with the exception of the bigger guys on the team. Sloter said there weren’t any 4XL shirts sent, so he is in the process of having some delivered.

“I’m kind of tickled when I look around and see people wearing (the shirts),’’ Sloter said. “It’s kind of cool.’’"

If you missed it, Linval Joseph was on the sidelines, wearing his shades, sucking on the oxygen after his first TD.
