This is an opportunity to not only create a food network, but to control How we eat. Corporate food stores serve big Ag interest in pushing highly processed foods which incubate disease thereby feeding into the allopathic health model established in the 1920's. This model creates disease only to then 'manage' disease, not cure or even stop the base root of disease...high processed foods, GMO foods, GE lab foods, and frankenfoods.
This is why it is important to overstand the meaning of food and why it is important to understand the destruction caused by foods manufactured in Agri-facilities and then sold in local food-chains.

As a former girls basketball and t-ball coach, being a role model for youth is a powerful and impactful calling. NEVER underestimate your role in the shaping of future lives.

"January is National Mentoring Month — a time to celebrate the transformative power of mentorship and highlight the essential role park and recreation professionals play in fostering youth development and mentoring in local communities.
Mentorship benefits everyone, but its impact on young people is especially profound. Research shows that youth with mentors are more likely to volunteer regularly in their communities, take on leadership roles in clubs or sports teams, and develop a stronger sense of belonging."

Great news in the fight to protect native corn in Mexico! Our hero, Mercedes López, International Director of OCA’s sister organization, Vía Orgánica, has worked tirelessly alongside other activists, lawyers and politicians on the “Collective Lawsuit” in the trial for the ban on the planting of transgenic corn in Mexico. This trial is based on the “Sin Maíz No Hay País” (Without Corn There Is No Country) campaign and is a powerful rallying cry, uniting peasant, indigenous, scientific, and social organizations in a shared movement to protect the very foundation of our food systems and cultural heritage.

“In defense of native corn and biodiversity from the center of origin: Mexico. On February 25, the Chamber of Deputies approved a constitutional reform to articles 4 and 27 to prohibit the planting of genetically modified corn, prioritize the protection of biodiversity and food sovereignty, defend the milpa system and promote traditional crops and native seeds. Civil society has played a fundamental role in achieving this important resolution, particularly through the work of our Mexican organization, Vía Orgánica.”
- Mercedes López, Director of Vía Orgánica
