✨ Wood Art ✨
Artists use raw wood as their canvas, transforming it through carving, sculpting, burning, painting, and shaping. From detailed relief carvings and hand-turned bowls to pyrography (wood burning) designs and carefully inlaid patterns, each piece reveals the natural grain and character of the wood.
This medium is incredibly diverse. Wood art can be purely decorative, like wall art and sculpture, or beautifully functional, in the case of handcrafted cutting boards, games, and other home pieces. Techniques such as woodturning, distressing, staining, and intricate carving allow artists to highlight the texture, color, and movement already hidden inside the wood.
At the festival, you’ll see how artists transform simple pieces of timber into expressive works of art. Come explore the craftsmanship up close, learn about the techniques behind the pieces, and discover the beauty that can emerge from a single block of wood.
