Light-UP Lantern Festival

Light-UP Lantern Festival The streets of Crouse, Kirn, Spicer and East Exchange St. in University Park neighborhood will come

Artists and art instructors work with the community, schools, libraries, businesses, and the university, to teach classes in lantern making, puppetry, costumes, and work on collaborative art projects and installations. The results of these classes and collaborations culminate in a magical display of the arts at the "Light-UP" Lantern Festival in University Park on the evening of the event.

Dear friends and supporters of The Light-Up Lantern Festival,

I am now in my third full year of teaching and things are going wonderful. For those of you that haven't heard yet I am now in my second year at Firestone High School as the new visual arts teacher. I just wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your support in the four years we ran the festival!

Every once and a while I will get a student or parent asking if I am going to ever start up something like that again........ I can honestly say that I just simply do not have the time. However, I do have a number of new projects in the works and I am working with some local organizations to get some new ideas off the ground.

By the new year I will be removing myself from social media as a singular identity and only be on and communicating as Coffield Studios. If you want to stay in touch and see what I am creating and what is happening in my classrooms please like my page.

Hope you all have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Sincerely,
Daniel Coffield

Dear friends of the Lantern Festival,

We would like to thank everyone for their support, hard work and for lending their incredible talents over the past 4 years. You have helped to make this event a magical experience, one that we will cherish for many years to come!

We are sorry to announce that we will not be producing the Light-UP Lantern festival this year. Unfortunately funding and time constraints have taken their toll. We are so grateful for all of the help from our talented friends, and all those who attended!

We're so sorry to hear about our friends at University Park Alliance (UPA-our sponsoring organization). Thank you for yo...

I found this video on Youtube. The same person did a series of videos on the night of the Lantern Festival 2012. The audio on most the videos is very low so its hard to hear.

Even still there is some great parts in this particular video.
