📌VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES📌

We are currently needing volunteers for all aspects of the Haunted Forest.

🔨We are in need of volunteers to help with construction. This includes lifting heavy panels, light panels, and moving items from storage to the scene locations. It also involves building scenes by bracing panels and securing props. Beginning October 1st, we meet nightly during the week, and weekend times vary. You can message our page for more information.

🔨We are in need of volunteers to help with tear down. We take down as much as possible in one day, which will be Sunday the 26th. We remove bracing from panels and load everything into trailers to return to storage. The more help we have, the quicker this goes for everyone.

👻We are also in need of volunteers to help with acting. This can include scaring guests or handing out 3D glasses. We need all the help we can get to make each scene as effective as possible. Acting volunteers are needed Friday and Saturday nights, and we need you for the full evening. We meet between 5:00–5:30 PM to place people in scenes and get you into costume and makeup. We usually finish around midnight and meet at the pavilion for pizza and refreshments. Snacks and water are provided at all scenes for actors throughout the night. Please dress for the weather, as it can be cold.

After a week of eerie excitement, pun‑filled chaos, and more bone‑rattling laughter than Tasty could handle, we officially have a name for his new best friend.

🎃 Tasty McRibs Takes on the Brown County Fair

Tasty McRibs brought his new goodest bony friend to the Brown County Fair — and yes, we did remind him that pets aren’t allowed… but you try telling a skeleton he can’t sneak his buddy in. He doesn’t even have ears, so technically he didn’t hear us anyway. He’s on a mission to find the perfect name for his spooky sidekick, so feel free to admire him… just look, don’t touch. Our shy bony friends startle easily and may rattle themselves apart like a xylophone having a nervous breakdown.

Between corn dogs, carnival lights, and at least three questionable decisions involving livestock barns, Tasty is gathering inspiration for the Aberdeen Haunted Forest — because once the fair wraps up, the real haunting begins. If you see him wandering around the fairgrounds, he’s not lost… he’s plotting. And trust us, when a skeleton plots, things get interesting fast.

Make sure to find Tasty McRibs and get an up‑close view of him and his new best friend he’s trying to name — before they get kicked out for “being too spooky for the general public.”

“I’ve checked the moon phases, consulted the bats, and triple‑checked my spooky planner… The Haunted Forest is officially set for October 23rd & 24th. Don’t make me haunt your calendar — go mark it now.”

✨Our website is currently under construction (Peter tried to “help,” and… well… pumpkins shouldn’t touch wires).

🌲👻 Aberdeen Haunted Forest Needs Its Creators… 👻🌲

Every fall, the Haunted Forest comes alive — shadows whisper, creatures stir, and Peter the Pumpkin lights the path for thousands of brave souls who wander through our woods.

But here’s the truth hiding between the trees:
The forest can’t build or run itself.
And right now… we simply don’t have enough hands to keep the magic (and the mayhem) alive.

For years, volunteers have poured their time, creativity, and heart into making the Haunted Forest a tradition our community looks forward to. But our crew has gotten smaller, and the work has gotten bigger. Without more people stepping in to help plan, build, and run the behind‑the‑scenes chaos…
we’re dangerously close to the point where the Haunted Forest will not be able to continue — this year or in the future.

If you’ve ever loved the screams, the laughter, the memories, or the thrill of being part of something spooky and special, this is your moment to step out of the shadows and join us.

🕯️ Meetings are every other Monday at 6:00 PM at The Flame on South Main Street.
No experience needed. No special skills required.
Just a willingness to help keep the forest alive.

Peter the Pumpkin is counting on you.
