✨【2026花蓮國際石雕藝術季｜石雕創作營
評審委員介紹（一）｜從創作實踐，看見雕塑的多重視角】
從全球 51個國家、194件創作提案，到18件作品進入決審，再選出最終9位入選藝術家，每一階段的評選，不只是觀看作品的形式，更需要從創作理念、造形、材料、空間，以及實際執行的可能性進行整體思考。
本屆石雕創作營-國際徵件邀請5位具有不同專業背景與豐富評審經驗的評審委員共同參與評選。本篇首先帶大家認識三位評審委員——許禮憲、張子隆、蔡文慶。
🔹 許禮憲｜雕塑家
國立臺灣藝術專科學校美術科雕塑組畢業，早年即接受專業雕塑訓練。自1970年代來到花蓮後，長年投入石雕創作、石材與技術研究，並培育許多後進，是花蓮石雕發展極具代表性的前輩與人才傳承的重要推手。
曾任中華民國雕塑學會理事長、全國美展雕塑評審委員、國際技能競賽石刻國際裁判等，數十年的創作與評選經驗，使其對石材特性、雕刻技術與作品實踐累積了深厚理解。
🔹 張子隆｜雕塑家
長年投入雕塑創作與藝術教育，是臺灣現代雕塑藝術發展的重要推手之一。畢業於國立臺灣藝術專科學校，後赴日本深造，1980年取得多摩美術大學雕塑碩士，返臺後長年任教於國立臺北藝術大學。
其創作長期探索材質、造形、空間與環境之間的關係，並將雕塑的思考延伸至公共空間。數十年的現代雕塑創作與藝術教育經驗，也為本屆評選帶來對作品形式、材料與空間關係的深度觀看。
🔹 蔡文慶｜雕塑家
國立藝術專科學校雕塑科畢業、美國阿肯色州立大學藝術創作碩士，現為文化部公共藝術專家學者、花蓮文化局諮詢及評審委員，並於國立東華大學教授雕塑創作、公共藝術與空間美學等課程。
長年投入石雕與公共藝術，具有豐富的國際雕塑創作經驗；自1995年花蓮國際石雕戶外創作公開賽起，也曾多次參與花蓮國際石雕相關創作活動。從創作營現場到公共藝術實踐，使其對作品從模型與計畫走向大型實體雕塑，具有深厚的實務視角。

從花蓮石雕的發展與傳承、現代雕塑對造形與空間的探索，到跨越國際的創作與公共藝術實踐，多元的專業背景與觀點，共同構成本屆國際徵件的評選視角。

✨ 【2026 Hualien International Stone Sculpture Festival｜Stone Sculpture Symposium
Jury Introduction (I)｜Different Practices, Multiple Perspectives on Sculpture】
From 194 creative proposals submitted by artists from 51 countries, 18 works advanced to the Final Review, with nine artists ultimately selected for this year’s Stone Sculpture Symposium. At every stage of the selection process, the jury considered not only the visual form of each work, but also its creative concept, form, material, spatial relationship, and feasibility of ex*****on.
For this year’s Stone Sculpture Symposium – International Open Call, five jury members with diverse professional backgrounds and extensive jury experience were invited to take part in the selection process. In this first post, we introduce three of them—Hsu Li-Hsien, Chang Tzu-Lung, and Tsai Wen-Ching.
🔹 Hsu Li-Hsien｜Sculptor
A graduate of the Sculpture Division, Department of Fine Arts at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts, Hsu received formal training in sculpture early in his career. Since moving to Hualien in the 1970s, he has devoted decades to stone sculpture, the study of stone materials and techniques, while also mentoring generations of younger artists. He is widely recognized as a senior figure in Hualien’s stone sculpture community and an important contributor to its development and artistic legacy.
He has served as Chairman of the Sculpture Association of the Republic of China, a juror for the National Art Exhibition, and an international expert in stonemasonry for the WorldSkills Competition. His decades of experience in both artistic practice and jury work have given him a profound understanding of stone, carving techniques, and the practical realization of sculptural works.
🔹 Chang Tzu-Lung｜Sculptor
A longtime practitioner and educator in sculpture, Chang is recognized as one of the important contributors to the development of modern sculpture in Taiwan. He graduated from the National Taiwan Academy of Arts and later pursued advanced studies in Japan, receiving his Master’s degree in Sculpture from Tama Art University in 1980. After returning to Taiwan, he devoted many years to sculpture and art education, teaching at Taipei National University of the Arts.
His artistic practice has long explored the relationships between material, form, space, and environment, extending sculptural thinking into the public realm. His decades of experience in modern sculpture and art education bring to this year’s selection process a profound perspective on form, material, and spatial relationships.
🔹 Tsai Wen-Ching｜Sculptor
Tsai graduated from the Department of Sculpture at the National Taiwan Academy of Arts and received an MFA from Arkansas State University in the United States. He currently serves as a public art expert for Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture and as an advisor and jury member for the Hualien County Cultural Affairs Bureau. He also teaches sculpture, public art, and spatial aesthetics at National D**g Hwa University.
With extensive experience in stone sculpture and public art, Tsai has participated in numerous international sculpture programs. Since the 1995 Hualien International Outdoor Stone Sculpture Competition, he has also taken part in Hualien’s international stone sculpture activities on numerous occasions. His experience—from sculpture symposiums to public art practice—provides a strong practical perspective on how a work develops from a model and proposal into a full-scale sculpture.
Different Artistic Journeys, Different Perspectives
From the development and transmission of Hualien’s stone sculpture tradition, to explorations of form and space in modern sculpture, and international practices in sculpture and public art, these diverse professional backgrounds and perspectives together contribute to the jury’s approach to this year’s International Open Call.
