Meet Zeynep Günal - vocalist, sonic artist 🎶

Opera-trained and moving between classical roots, electronic music and contemporary sound, Zeynep draws inspiration from nature, ancient cultures and musical traditions from around the world.

Bringing together voice, organic textures and electronic elements, her performances move freely across genres - from reimagined classical and traditional works to her own original music.

MEET DUYGU YENİCE AYDIN 🌺

Meet Duygu Yenice Aydın, who looks after guest relations and reservations at Salonika1881.

Born in Istanbul in 1991 and a graduate of Business Administration at Istanbul Bilgi University, Duygu spent eight years working in brand management before Kalkan became a very special part of her life four years ago.

Today, she is part of the team at Salonika1881, a restaurant that has been welcoming guests since 2015.

Surrounded by bougainvillea and inspired by the warmth of Mediterranean street life, Salonika1881 has been part of Kalkan’s summer story for more than a decade. But for Duygu and the Salonika team, it has always been about more than food.

It’s about coming together.

They believe there is something powerful about gathering around the same table — sharing food, conversation, time and experiences. It is this simple idea of sharing that sits at the heart of Salonika1881.

And naturally, that belief extends beyond the restaurant.

For Duygu, supporting charity and community projects is another way of putting the same philosophy into practice: when something good is shared, it grows.

Education is particularly close to their hearts. They believe that supporting local kindergartens and primary schools, improving access to technology and creating more opportunities for children are meaningful investments in Kalkan’s future.

And perhaps this is exactly what makes Kalkan so special to Duygu.

A place where local culture meets people from all over the world. Where different lives, languages and traditions exist side by side. A small town with a remarkable sense of openness and community.

Being able to protect that spirit — and contribute something back to the place that gives us all so much — is why Salonika1881 is proud to support Indifest26.

Meet Ramazan & Debbie — two lovely people who truly understand what “All for the Community” is all about. 💙

This year, they are supporting Indifest in a very special way, generously providing two nights’ bed & breakfast at Villa Cennet Bahçesi for some of our dancers joining us for the festival.

For Ramazan and Debbie, supporting Indifest is about much more than simply helping with an event. It’s about giving something back to the place they call home and being part of a festival that brings people together while raising funds for projects across Kalkan and the surrounding villages.

And community spirit is something Ramazan already knows plenty about.

Known locally as The Handy Man, Ramazan is one of those people who can turn his hand to almost anything — always with care, patience and a great deal of thought. When an outdoor classroom was needed for the senior school in the village centre, Ramazan took on the project management and build, working tirelessly alongside two British residents who volunteered their time. He reduced his own rate and worked simply to cover his expenses — a wonderful example of local people coming together to make something happen.

From home repairs and maintenance to garden work, outdoor projects and those jobs that don’t quite fit neatly into a category, Ramazan is always ready to lend a helping hand.

And alongside him is Debbie, keeping busy with her garden and her much-loved British cooking — and sharing Ramazan’s enthusiasm for supporting the community around them.

It’s happening. 💙

We’ve been talking about community, creativity and bringing people together — and now it’s finally time to introduce some of the people who will bring Indifest 26 to life.

This is our first official lineup announcement, and the first glimpse of what you’ll experience with us on Saturday, 26 September at Indigo Beach Club.

This year’s programme brings together music, dance, theatre, rhythm, fire, movement and performance — different disciplines, different generations and different people sharing one stage for one community.

From the powerful rhythms of Kalkan Ritim Kulübü and the theatre of Perdeler Açılsın, to the voice of opera singer Zeynep Günal; from Flyboard Aristos to dancer Romane Deniz Yılmaz, and the energy of Karışık Kaset The Band.

We’ll also welcome Fire Dancer Gülşah Bilgin, Dancer İrem Demir Esen, the Lindy Hoppers, VarsaYoksa The Band, and DJ Nick Hawley — with more moments, surprises and community energy waiting throughout the day.

And this is only the beginning.

Alongside the performances, Indifest will be filled with artisan stalls, local makers, art, design, food, an auction & raffle, and plenty of reasons to arrive early, stay late and spend the day together.

Because Indifest was never meant to be just a festival.

It’s a day created by the community, for the community — a place to discover local talent, meet new people, support creativity and celebrate the many different characters that make Kalkan what it is.
