Glamox has been selected to provide specialised marine lighting for the Formosa 4 offshore wind project, partnering with ProCon Taiwan and SK oceanplant to supply over 900 marine lights for 35 wind turbines.

🌬️ ACEN Completes Final Phase of NorthWind Wind Farm Upgrade in the Philippines 🇵🇭

MANILA, Philippines — ACEN Corporation, the energy platform of the Ayala Group, has completed the second and final phase of its upgrade program for the NorthWind wind farm in Bangui Bay, Ilocos Norte.

With 52 MW of installed capacity across 20 turbines, NorthWind began operations in 2005 and is recognized as one of Southeast Asia’s pioneering commercial wind farms.

🔧 Key highlights:

20 turbines upgraded between 2025 and 2026
769 GWh of additional renewable electricity expected over the next 10 years ⚡
Power equivalent to approximately 188,000 households
Around 592,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions expected to be avoided 🌱

The upgrade involved extensive mechanical and electrical improvements to enhance the wind farm’s efficiency, reliability and operational lifespan, while also supporting local employment in Ilocos Norte.

ACEN is continuing to expand its renewable energy portfolio in the Philippines, including the 344.5 MW Quezon North Wind Project, and is targeting 20 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Wind Power Investment Continues to Accelerate 🌬️

Windey Energy Technology Group has officially signed an awarding document with AMEA Power for the supply of wind turbines for the AYSHA I Wind Power Project in Ethiopia.

The project is Ethiopia’s first renewable energy project developed under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model and is currently one of the largest wind power projects in East Africa.

Philippine energy company PetroEnergy Resources Corporation has completed the acquisition of the remaining 40% stake in PetroWind Energy Inc. from Thailand-based BCPG Public Company Limited for PHP 1.9 billion (approximately USD 30.9 million).

Following the transaction, PetroEnergy now holds 100% ownership of PetroWind.

🇵🇭 PetroEnergy เข้าซื้อกิจการพอร์ตพลังงานลม 49.2 เมกะวัตต์ของ PetroWind ครบ 100%

บริษัทพลังงานของฟิลิปปินส์ PetroEnergy Resources Corporation ได้เสร็จสิ้นการเข้าซื้อหุ้นส่วนที่เหลืออีก 40% ใน PetroWind Energy Inc. จากบริษัท BCPG จำกัด (มหาชน) ของประเทศไทย ด้วยมูลค่า 1.9 พันล้านเปโซฟิลิปปินส์ (ประมาณ 30.9 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ)

หลังจากการทำธุรกรรมครั้งนี้ PetroEnergy ได้กลายเป็นผู้ถือหุ้น 100% ใน PetroWind

🌬️ Kazakhstan Takes Another Step Toward Local Wind Energy Manufacturing

Kazakhstan is strengthening its position in the growing wind energy market.

The country has started assembling its first wind power equipment at a new plant jointly established by Samruk-Kazyna and SANY Renewable Energy in Shu, Kazakhstan.

The first 10 wind power installation sets, with a combined capacity of 77 MW, will be supplied for a hybrid power project being developed by KazMunayGas and Eni in Zhanaozen.

More importantly, the plant is designed for an annual production capacity of up to 2 GW, manufacturing key wind turbine components including nacelles and hubs, while also establishing an R&D center and creating around 300 permanent jobs.

This is more than a single project — it reflects the growing development of wind energy infrastructure, local manufacturing and renewable energy supply chains in Central Asia.

คาซัคสถานกำลังเสริมสร้างความแข็งแกร่งในตำแหน่งของตนบนตลาดพลังงานลมที่กำลังเติบโต

ประเทศคาซัคสถานได้เริ่มประกอบอุปกรณ์พลังงานลมชุดแรกที่โรงงานแห่งใหม่ ซึ่งจัดตั้งขึ้นภายใต้ความร่วมมือระหว่าง Samruk-Kazyna และ SANY Renewable Energy ในเมืองชู (Shu) ประเทศคาซัคสถาน
