The Australian motocross scene witnessed a thrilling debut at the highly anticipated Podium event during the 2026 FMSCT Thailand Motocross Season Opener held at Silver Rock Bike Park, nestled in the picturesque Loei Province.
This event marked the commencement of the 47th year of the FMSCT Thailand Motocross Championship, a prestigious series that showcases the finest talents in motocross racing. The championship is proudly supported by the National Sports Development Fund (NSDF), The Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) emphasizing the importance of fostering sports at both international and national levels.
Among the standout competitors was the seasoned 37-year-old Australian motocross racer, Kirk Gibbs, representing Team GoodBoy Hung Modify. Gibbs, a formidable presence in the Premier MX-1 450 class, delivered an electrifying performance that captivated the audience. The race began with a dramatic twist as Gibbs encountered a crash at the very first corner, a moment that could have derailed his entire race. However, displaying remarkable resilience and skill, he managed to recover swiftly and set out on an impressive journey through the pack.
