Thailand’s most prestigious jazz competition under Silpakorn University

Faculty of Music, Silpakorn University is one of Thailand most prestigious college of music. Established in 1999, the school has continuously produced large number of young jazz artists whose contributions helped shaping the standard of overall jazz performance to a higher level. Since its establishment, Jazz Studies Program, Silpakorn University has been immensely involved with many jazz activiti

es both domestic and international level. In 2005, we initiated a highly acclaimed “Thailand Jazz Competition” (TJC) -- the premier jazz competition under the patronage of His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej. As the first of its kind in the country, the contest was overwhelmingly participated by jazz musicians as well as audiences nationwide. Silpakorn University is proud to announce the 2017 Thailand Jazz Competition this time will be held at “Bangkok Art & Culture Centre” from Saturday 29th April 2017 to Sunday 30th April 2017 (Final Round). There will be 3 categories to this competition which include: Jazz Ensembles Competition, Jazz Big Band Competition, and Jazz Vocal Competition. The competition will attract contestants, professional jazz artists, young musicians, as well as jazz fanatics from all over Thailand. In addition, the event will provide a fair-like atmosphere for diverse groups such as music critic, jazz specialists, musical instrument experts, students, and other participants who will make this competitive event unique and remembered.
