HM King Rama VI wrote more than 20 plays in English after falling for theatre during his years at Oxford. Almost none have ever been staged professionally – until this July.
The King's Command, a one-act farce written by His Majesty around 1901, finally gets its world premiere by Siam Repertory Theatre, led by producer Paul Ewing. The plot: a masked ball, a case of mistaken identity and a royal marriage order.
It's all in service of a big ambition: keeping a century-old royal legacy alive on Bangkok's stage.
Free to attend, first come, first served – July 18 at the Sri Ayudhaya Auditorium, Rama 6 Foundation, National Library.
Donations help the Rama 6 Foundation and Siam Repertory Theatre Company bring this larger-than-life production to the stage: Catalyst Entertainment Co., Ltd. – KBank 191-8-38144-5.

"Salo, or the 120 Days of S***m" is the final work of renowned Italian director Pierpaolo Pasolini. The film is loosely adapted from the masterpiece by Marquis de Sade, *The 120 Days of S***m*, but set in Italy during the Fascist dictatorship.
The story follows the daily lives of four high-ranking men: a Duke, a Bishop, a Judge, and a CEO of a wealthy company, who live together in a secluded mansion. They order their private guards to abduct 18 young people, who are then subjected to physical and mental torture to satisfy their perverse tastes.

Homecoming of the Owl by Thawan Duchanee
Bangkok Art and Culture Centre in partnership with 129 Art Museum and The Art Auction Center invites you to take part in “Homecoming of the Owl,” marking the return to Thailand of The Maha-Ummagga Jataka, a significant work by Thawan Duchanee, presented alongside a special public discussion held on the occasion of this exhibition.
This discussion offers a rare opportunity to explore the journey of this important artwork through the perspectives of those who personally met and worked closely with Thawan Duchanee, including the collaborators behind the publication ‘The Buddhist art of Tawan Datchani’. The speakers will share insights into the relationship between the artist and the publishing house, the creative process behind the artwork, and the making of the book that captures the value and spirit of this remarkable work.
