We are truly honored to receive these inspiring words from His Excellency SHIKATA Noriyuki, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia.

Sushi Summit was founded in 2019 by Executive Chef Makoto Sam Saito, who was appointed as a Japanese Cuisine Goodwill Ambassador by Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries in 2025.

From the very beginning, Sushi Summit was created with a sincere vision — to share the passion, dedication, and spirit of sushi craftsmanship that cannot always be fully expressed during regular restaurant service.

Over the past seven years, Sushi Summit has continued to grow steadily, supported by chefs who deeply respect the culture of sushi and by guests who passionately believe in its value.

Sushi Summit is more than simply a dining event.
It is a place where the sushi counter transcends borders, language, and culture — connecting people through a shared appreciation of craftsmanship, hospitality, and human connection.

At its core, Sushi Summit is committed to presenting the true spirit and authenticity of Japanese culinary culture with sincerity and integrity.

For that reason, receiving such meaningful words from Ambassador SHIKATA is not only a tremendous honor for us, but also a deeply humbling reminder of the trust and support this event has earned throughout the years.

Sushi Summit Volume 9 has come to a successful close.

Once again, we were honored to welcome around 150 guests across the event, and we are truly grateful for everyone who joined us and supported this journey.

Seeing our guests excitedly sharing their experiences — talking passionately about what they saw, tasted, and felt — was incredibly inspiring for us. Those moments gave us new energy and reminded us why Sushi Summit exists.

As we look ahead to Volume 10 this September, we are excited to continue evolving and bringing an even more powerful experience to the counter.
