As the year comes to a close, the AAPPAC Secretariat would like to express our sincere gratitude to all within the AAPPAC family. This year, we strengthened our connections with each other through artistic and training exchanges, collaborations, and shared learning in a diverse range of issues that arts centres, artists, and practitioners grapple with today. Your participation, generosity, and openness in sharing have helped us shape a more vibrant and resilient performing arts community within the region.

In 2026, we are excited to celebrate our 30th Anniversary milestone with you and look forward to enabling more opportunities for connection, collaboration, and exchange through our AAPPAC platforms.

Thank you again for your continued support and faith in the network.

Wishing you a restful year-end, and a wonderful new year with your loved ones! ✨

Sincerely,
AAPPAC Secretariat (Jacklyn, Diana & KT)

What an inspiring week it was in Daejeon, where more than 120 arts leaders and practitioners from across the Asia-Pacific gathered to exchange ideas, foster connections, and reimagine the future of the performing arts.

From Maestra Han-Na Chang’s insightful keynote on global artistry and engaging our next generation, to thought-provoking discussions on the rise and success of K-Culture, the convergence of art and science, evolving audience engagement and marketing, and the future of international collaborations and productions - every session offered fresh perspectives and meaningful dialogue.

Beyond the discussions, we were also inspired by the beautiful arts and cultural venues in Daejeon and Seoul and were treated to breathtaking performances by KAIST, Madanggeuk Troupe Wukumchi, and the National Chorus of Korea, all of which beautifully showcased the diversity, dynamism, and heart of Korean culture.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to Daejeon Arts Center for the thoughtful programme, warm hospitality and for allowing us to experience the many facets of Korean creativity and tradition. Thank you also to Seoul Arts Center, and LG Arts Center SEOUL for hosting us at your beautiful venues.

To all AAPPAC members - we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again next year in Hong Kong!

Ivy from the Taipei Performing Arts Center recently visited Aichi Arts Center in Nagoya, Japan through the AAPPAC Grant for Training Exchanges.

From a behind-the-scenes look at The Main Hall’s front-of-house operations to exchanging best practices of audience service insights with Aichi’s FOH managers, it was a meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences across borders.

A big thank you to Aichi Arts Center for the warm welcome!

Secretariat and EXCO were warmly welcomed by our members in Daejeon, Seoul, and Incheon last week during our 48th EXCO Meeting. Over three days, we were able to visit four beautiful arts centres led by inspiring individuals who have paved the way for their local arts communities to thrive in today’s world. We learnt about the unique landscape that our fellow counterparts in S.Korea operate within, reminisced about the last conference in Daejeon (12 years ago!), and bonded over the most delicious food!

Thank you to Arts Center Incheon, Seoul Arts Center, and LG Arts Center SEOUL for being generous with your time and making us feel so welcomed! Most of all, a big THANK YOU to our conference hosts - Daejeon Arts Center for your warm hospitality and care throughout the trip and for putting together an incredibly thoughtful programme for this year’s conference. We can’t wait to see it come to live in October!

The AAPPAC 2025 Daejeon Conference - FROM LOCAL INSPIRATION TO GLOBAL INFLUENCE will take place from 21 - 23 Oct 2025, hosted by Daejeon Arts Center. More details to come in May!
