Darpan, which in Sanskrit is interpreted as 'self image', celebrated a century of iconic Indian Cinema with a reflection of content like never before in 2012 in Singapore . The journey began . Where the moving picture is often seen as a reflection of our lives, it gave us great pleasure to present a Film Festival that was the first of its kind in Singapore, bringing films from all regions of India

and Bangladesh to Singapore. Together with panel discussions and workshops spanning almost an entire week, the Festival brought for years celebrities and film personalities from South Asia and Singapore into a shared space. An integration through the arts. This sentiment was brought to life by collaboration amongst the Darpan team that hails from different geographies and backgrounds. Their integration of cross-cultural perspectives with a common passion for the arts has been crucial in the effort to bring this unfamiliar region of South East Asia, to our collective consciousness more than a decade back

Darpan as a film festival thanks our affiliate partners, The Singapore Film Society, La Salle College of the Arts, Tisch School of the Arts and Cathay Cineleisure, for their kind support in believing in our dream . With years, the company has moved on to be a brand identified with bringing good content as a distributor from blockbusters to independent films from South Asia to South East Asia. Darpan is now producing cross border content
