After 12 days of daily auditions, the preliminary round of the 19th Chopin Competition concluded on May 4 at the Warsaw Philharmonic. The jury, chaired by Professor Piotr Paleczny, selected 66 pianists, who will return to Warsaw in less than five months to compete in the main stages of the 19th Chopin Competition.

Additionally, 19 performers were granted direct entry to the first stage of the competition without needing to participate in the preliminaries. These pianists are winners of prestigious international competitions, including the Leeds, Tel Aviv, Miami, Bolzano, Hamamatsu, Paderewski International Piano Competition in Bydgoszcz, and the Fryderyk Chopin National Piano Competition in Warsaw.

In the first stage of the 19th Chopin Competition, performances will feature 85 pianists from 20 countries, with the largest contingents coming from China, Japan, and Poland.

Among them, 19 pianists were previously competitors in the Singapore International Piano Competition. After 12 days of daily auditions, 11 of them have advanced to the main competition.

Congratulations to all the pianists who advanced, and we look forward to seeing your brilliance on stage!
