🌹The Blessed Ten Days of Zulhijjah🌹
[Short excerpt of a Sohbah given on 16th June 2023.]
Almarhum Sheikh Abdul Sattar spoke about how momentous these 10 days of Zulhijjah are.
Allah Almighty swears by them and He made it abundantly open for all of us to get many blessings in these 10 nights.
Maulana was saying that if we ask from a human being, they will help maybe once, twice or thrice but by the time you reach the 10th time asking for help, they will get irritated with us.
But Allah Almighty created all these ranks and gifts and blessings and dressings for His creation.
And the more you ask from Him, the more He is happy with you.
Maulana was saying, when Allah opens the doors of his generosity and his blessings in these 10 days and nights, don’t let them pass like ordinary days.
Just imagine, one night is equivalent to one Lailatul Qadr and we were searching the whole of Ramadan to get just one night.
And here we have 10 nights, confirmed 10 nights of Lailatul Qadr ahead of us so Maulana said, stay up if you can or at least wake up earlier and ask as much as you can from Allah Almighty for the safety of yourself and your journey.
You only have a limited number of Zulhijjahs in your life. You must always be aware of the shortness of time as Allah also swears by time, not just by Fajr and these 10 nights. Allah also swears Wal-Asr (by the time). If only mankind knew how short their time was, how limited it was, they would be very careful with how the time passes.
Maulana was saying that you must ask from Allah what is most valuable. And the most valuable gift that’s given to us is Iman, our faith. So you must always put that in perspective.
Maulana was saying, “The rich people will say, oh I own this building, I own this sports car, I own all these businesses and you have nothing but if you have Iman, you are in reality richer than him if that man doesn’t have faith. You are in reality richer than anyone who has this dunya.”
As we mentioned repeatedly, this dunya, is but one wing of a mosquito. So you must always have in your perspective and understanding to know what is truly important.
What’s important is Iman, and with Iman, you will strive to do amal because you want to build your Iman. In these 10 days the amal is multiplied many many folds.
So instead of just getting the reward one time or 70 times, maybe Allah will give you 7 million times or 700 million times. When you see that kind of reward and when you’re going back to Allah, you would only wish you had stayed up the whole night doing worshipping and fasted every single 1 of these 9 days.
