Over two days in May, more than 200 Ngee Ann Polytechnic students came together to tackle real-world sustainability challenges.
Across 24 hours, students worked in teams to unpack challenge statements, shape their ideas, and turn them into practical solutions. It was encouraging to see their creativity, teamwork and drive to build ideas with real impact.
This year’s edition was also special as we worked with codetogether.ai to introduce an AI Coding Enablement Workshop, helping students explore how AI can support ideation, MVP scoping, prototyping and pitching. With additional support from OpenAI, teams also had the chance to experiment with AI tools in a more hands-on way.
A big thank you to the 30+ mentors and judges who came down to guide the teams with your questions, feedback and encouragement. Your support helped students think deeper and push their ideas further.
We are also grateful to the NP staff and faculty team for their continued trust and support. This marks our 6th year collaborating with Ngee Ann Polytechnic on SDG Open Hack and we are glad to see this partnership continue to grow.
To all participating students — well done, and thank you for bringing your ideas, energy, and heart into the hackathon.
Next stop: more IHL editions this September, including Nanyang Polytechnic, National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University Singapore and Social Impact Catalyst. Stay tuned! 🚀
