"The deceased was apparently a regular fixture at the block."

He has been around that area for years. No intervention. Sad....

Last week, we had a small gathering of ex-missionaries who attended the same church and served under that church before. One of the brother said that his first reaction when someone share with him about the homeless in Singapore, was one of unbelieved. He thought that there was no homeless people in Singapore.

A homeless man was found dead at a covered walkway in Ang Mo Kio. He lay there for at least 3 hours before it was reported.

Total distance done for this week is approximately 215km. First accumulative 200km ride for my Beacon fundraising project.

Two more weeks to go.

Since I have raised more than $10k, I should do another 3 x 200km rides.

However, I don't think I should or can push my body to do these three remaining rides. So, what I plan to do is accumulative rides. In other words, I will dedicate my daily rides (5 times a week) that average 218km per week to the remaining 3 x 200km rides.

That will take another 3 weeks to complete, which is fine with me.

Completed my 2nd 200km overnight RTI. 4 RTI in total for this year. My commitment to my fundraising is completed.

I was a little apprehensive about having to do it alone but glad I did. Partly also because I had just recovered from covid the previous Monday and was not sure if my body could endure such a long-distance ride. Saw three wild boars at Jalan Bahar and a cream-colored dog sleeping in the middle of the left lane of Tuas South Ave 3.

Strange that LP1 was deserted when I arrived there.

Praise the Lord! The amount that I raised as one of the beacons under the fundraising project of New Hope Community Services, the charity where I work as a pastoral executive, has just surpassed the $10k mark. I started with a modest target of $2k but have been blessed with a five fold increase!

One of the donors asked if I have reached my target. I have but I want to be able to continue to raise more money as every cent goes into helping the displaced and disadvantaged that our charity is serving. Maybe it will reach $11k or $12k or even more, who knows? Only He knows.

This coming Friday (21st Oct) will be my second overnight RTI of 200km. Do remember me in prayer as there is a possibility that it might be a solo trip.

Start at 0455hrs before it rain. Reached SA and the rain started. Decided to continue and see how my body handles the heavy rain ad a prep in case it rain in the early hours of 22nd Oct while I am still on my 200km overnight RTI.
