Looking for volunteers to test a new creative workshop! ✨

I’m trying out a new concept and I’m looking for a small group of people to join me 🙋‍♀️

Bring a piece you’d love to give a new life a jacket, bag, or clothing item that needs a refresh, a little personality boost, or a clever fix for a stain or small hole.

I’ll provide materials like iron-on patches, fabric scraps, paint, beads, and other creative bits to help you customise your piece ♻️

The goal is simple: transform what you already own into something that truly reflects you.

We’ll begin with a short, guided meditation to drop into a creative flow state, and then I’ll support you as you work on your pieces.

No sewing skills needed (we’ll keep it simple with hand sewing and iron-on options).

No artistic talent required, just bring your curiosity and your personality ✨

Six years of Atelier Zorro. Here’s what I wish I knew at the start.

I began this with Guillermo during lockdown, making things to stay sane, listing a handmade mask on Etsy “just to see.”

Six years later, I’m still here. Still making slowly. Still learning.

Here are 8 things I know now:

1. You have to be seen.
People fall in love with humans, not products. Your story is the bridge. I’m still learning to show up.

2. You don’t need a perfect plan.
Clarity comes from movement. Begin messy. Experiment. No one is judging — and if they are, it’s about their limits, not yours.

3. Rejection shapes your style.
If everyone likes it, it’s beige. “No’s” are information. I learned to stay loyal to the markets and people who believed in me.

4. Creating is only 20%.
The rest is admin, packing, accounting, selling — the unsexy bits that keep the lights on. (Still struggling with the boring bits)

5. Pricing from fear is a trap.
Value > comparison. If I’m not making money, what’s the point? If it feels expensive, maybe it’s not for them, or I haven’t explained the craft behind it.

6. Your taste is wiser than the trend.
What I loved sold. What I chased didn’t.

7. A business rooted in care grows far.
I started to stay mentally healthy, making slowly, expressing myself unapologetically. That root stayed true.

8. Let people in.
Guillermo believed in me before I did. Support like that changes everything.

Six years. Still making. Still learning.

I didn’t notice it at first.
It took years.

Being productive. Efficient. Ambitious.
Choosing a creative‑but‑safe path.
Optimising. Performing. Moving fast.

And slowly… something faded.

Not my drive.
My imagination.

The invisible cost of choosing productivity over play
isn’t obvious at first.
You lose depth. Presence.
The habit of thinking differently.

I didn’t lose my creativity.
I stopped practising it.

Rebuilding it took time.
Messy experiments.
Trying things badly.
Letting myself play again.

Creativity isn’t art.
It’s how you think. Notice. Adapt.
How you stay mentally alive.

So this weekend,
don’t forget to play!
Be curious.
Be a little silly.

One season, you may look bare.
Another, quietly gathering strength.
And then just for a moment you bloom.

We often celebrate only what is loud, visible, and effortless. Like cherry blossoms: admired when they burst into pink, yet overlooked the rest of the year—despite the quiet work happening beneath the bark.
Pressing flowers has taught me to think in seasons.
To slow down.

To notice the wildflowers people step over.
To pay attention when something blooms early, late, or only briefly.

This year, with the heat and strange weather, blossoms arrived weeks ahead of time.

A reminder that timing isn’t fixed and neither is progress.

I’m drawn to cherry blossoms not only for their beauty, but for their fragility.

They bloom for just a few weeks. They bruise easily. They can’t be rushed. They can’t be pressed when wet. You have to meet them exactly where they are, while they’re still here.

I haven’t fully mastered working with them. And still, from this year’s bloom, I created a small batch of precious necklaces, proof that imperfect seasons can still hold something worth keeping.

🌸 Gentle reminders for this season:

– Notice what’s small and fleeting before it fades
– Appreciate what’s soft, even if it isn’t productive
– Give attention to what’s quietly alive in you
– Trust that rest is part of the process
– Let this season be what it is

If you’re not in your most impressive bloom right now, it doesn’t mean you’ve missed it.
Everything is cyclical.

Everything is temporary, the heavy seasons and the light ones.
Stay with what this moment offers.

Release what no longer fits.
Learn gently.
Hold on.
Nothing lasts forever.

I didn’t start my business to sell fashion accessories.
I started it for a reason we’re talking about this week.

During the 2020 lockdown, I turned off the news. As a highly sensitive person, the constant stream of information was heightening my anxiety. I feel things deeply, and at that time, the world felt overwhelming and loud.

So I turned to sewing. I began making face masks from old bedsheets and clothing, something repetitive, grounding, and steady. My hands finally had something to do while my mind could slow down.

I sewed masks for friends and family during the shortage, back when few people knew how to sew.

Crafting quickly became my sanctuary. By focusing on my hands and each stitch, I shifted from absorbing the chaos of the world to actively creating a sense of calm.

Encouraged by others, I listed my masks on Etsy. A few days later, my first order came through.

I remember the pride and joy so clearly, followed almost immediately by imposter syndrome.

"What if it’s not good enough?"
"What if they don’t like it?"
"What if I get a bad review?"

Learning to manage that inner critic has been part of my mental health journey.

One of the biggest tools that helped me was daily journaling 📖

Writing helped me process emotions, recognise small wins, and build trust in myself, even when things weren’t perfect.

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, and the focus is on taking action. Especially the kind that’s within your control.

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing small, practical ways I use creativity to ground myself, calm anxiety, and keep my mind engaged instead of spiralling.
