Bulgari is the first exclusive partner in the history of the Venice Biennale, with a commitment running through 2030. The partnership, managed by the newly established Fondazione Bulgari, launches two exhibitions.
In the Giardini, Lotus L. Kang presents a site-specific installation, The Face of Desire Is Loss, using unfixed photographic film that changes with light, cast aluminum tatami mats, and a lighting score based on a poem, all exploring cycles of transformation and impermanence.
At the Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana, Monia Ben Hamouda’s neon sculptures treat language as a physical, ambivalent gesture, while Lara Favaretto’s Momentary Monument – The Library invites visitors to take a book, gradually emptying the shelves to challenge the notion of fixed knowledge.
Managing Director Matteo Morbidi states the foundation formalizes a long-standing cultural commitment, emphasizing freedom of creation and long-term artist relationships. The approach prioritizes conversation with Venice’s fragile environment, positioning the partnership as a model of thoughtful luxury patronage.
