Salo Farm

Salo Farm Visit www.salofarm.com for more info, pricing, and to book your stay. The property was subsequently re-purposed for therapeutic retreats for his patients.

Plan your workshop, retreat, reunion, wedding, photo shoot, or other function at our 33-acre sylvan venue located near the southern Adirondacks of upstate New York. The 33 acres of SALO Farm was originally part of a larger farm dating back about 200 years. This idyllic and absolutely secluded property, located at the end of a town-maintained road, is tucked away on the eastern side of Washington C

ounty, New York, and the northern Hudson valley, near the Vermont border and its gorgeous Green Mountain range. SALO Farm is officially located in Granville, New York, though sometimes listed as in the village of Hartford or Hebron. It is also a short drive from the traditionally "Americana-esque" small towns of Salem, Ft. Edward and Cambridge, larger vacation spots of Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls and Lake George, a short distance from the Vermont towns Manchester Center, Dorset, Weston, Burlington and Bennington, and a reasonable drive from the major metropolitan areas of Albany (1 hour), Montreal (2 hours), Boston and New York City (both 4 hours). The SALO Farm property was purchased in the 1970s by a Gestalt therapist who renovated the original farmhouse, converted the horse stables to a residence, and added new guest buildings (the guest house, the studio, the tower). In the early 1990s, a collective of performing artists purchased the property and renamed it Boreas Farm. Continuing to improve the facilities, the collective converted the property to be an arts-focused retreat by renovating the existing buildings and constructing a 1,500 sq ft rehearsal and performance building and hosting contemporary dance workshops, retreats, and projects with dancers and dance students from all over the world. SALO Farm continues its legacy as a retreat and special event location for many diverse purposes, where its guests can be soothed by its solitude, energized by its creative history, or inspired to host a wide variety of events.
