In 2002 started the 1st Comics Festival in Russia, Kommissia. It was organized by legendary artist and animator Heehoos. Takes place every year in May, has big exhibition, workshops, guests from all over the world. Is a platform uniting artists and publishers from Russia and all the World. Since 2013 the organizing fuinctions was delivered to Alex Kunin aka Chedrik, director of Comics Center in Moscow Youth Library.
