The Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Festival is a guitar festival located in the city of Târgu Mureș, Romania and organized by the Harmonia Cordis Association under the artistic direction of dr. Beke István Ferenc, classical guitar teacher at the Gheorghe Dima National Music Academy of Cluj-Napoca. The festival’s first edition took place in 2007 and its main porpoise was to promote the classi

cal guitar in the rank of the Romanian public as well as giving helping the artistic development of young guitarists by giving them a chance to perform in the opening of the concerts and by bringing in quality teachers to give masterclasses and workshops. Since the first edition the festival has hosted a number of famous guitarists such as Al di Meola, Tommy Emmanuel, Vicente Amigo, Trio Rosenberg, Jon Gomm, Yamandu Costa, Alexandr Misko, as well as the most appreciated classical guitarists around such as Judicaël Perroy, Duo Melis, Duo Bandini-Chiacchiaretta, Gabriel Bianco, Anton Baranov, Jérémy Jouve, Raphaël Feuillâtre and many more. In addition to fantastic concerts which are always free for the public the Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Festival offers a large range of activities like conferences on different topics, masterclasses, the Harmonia Cordis International Guitar Competition, and the Harmonia Cordis Composers Competition (only for Romanian citizens). The Harmonia Cordis Association has also launched the first online classical guitar radio from Southeast Europe (www.harmoniacordis.org/radio) The public is informed regarding the events on www.harmoniacordis.org.
