Dark alleys, machine dialogues and ambient darkness, the music of Jauzas The Shining resonates within us like an open book, whose universe reveals itself a little more with every note and every wave...
Influenced by the masters of deep, nocturnal electro, it was under the name “Adjust” that Romain Jaunas began distilling synthetic sounds in the early 2000s.
Resident at the famous Zoobizarre venue in Bordeaux, he also frequented a number of clubs and concert halls before organizing his own events with Katelectro under the provocative name “80’s suck”, and inviting artists such as Legowelt, Ultradyne, Luke Eargoggle and Orgue Electronique to plug in their machines.
The result is a new album that takes the human spirit to new heights, offering a subtle contrast between twisting rhythms and soaring lines.
In 2004, following the release of his first vinyl EP, he became the director of Zoobizarre,
which he renamed the Plug and ran for a year. Dates and concerts follow one another. Adjust refined his vision, accumulated vintage synths and drum machines and became Jauzas The Shining, whose name refers to Stanley Kubrick’s film and the telepathic gift of its young hero. From then on, club dates multiplied, giving him the opportunity to perform alongside emblematic artists of the techno and electro scene.
Particularly active on the production front, Jauzas has released vinyl after vinyl on such iconic electro labels as Shipwrec, Transient Force, Last Known Trajectory and New Flesh, to name but a few.
In a minimalist atmosphere, his electro sounds like the echo of a universe where robots seem to have taken over from humanity, and offers a subtle contrast between tortuous rhythms and soaring lines.
