This is Industry Talks: conversations that ask how independent music survives, how communities are built, and what it takes to keep creating when there are no easy paths.
While Victor Dădaciu thinks:
"In Romania people listen to music differently and that's not a conspiracy, it's not a bad thing. In Romania there are simply not enough people who listen to alternative music. There's a much bigger audience for this music abroad. I think there are two solutions - either play abroad, but that's very expensive, or slowly grow the listener base in Romania."
and Vlad Ilicevici started the debate by adding that:
"The real problem is that in Romania, both public and private institutions, but also bookers, radio stations, and clubs, do nothing to support music that is not already successful. It is not healthy at all for the world, for the music industry, and for established bands not to have new bands appear, bands that complete lineups, bands that offer musical alternatives."
