In autumn, we completed the renovation of Vistamar, the historic country house, and furnished it with great attention to detail. Each of
fers a peaceful haven with its own distinctive character. We offer a relaxing holiday in the Ria Formosa Natural Park, far away from the large tourist crowds. Each of our houses has direct access to our natural swimming lake, orchards, and the surrounding nature. Just nearby, you will find kilometres of clean sandy beaches as well as historic coastal villages. Adding to this is the unique climate – we are located on the same latitude as the city of Tunis in North Africa. Our yoga retreats held in 2025 were met with great enthusiasm. During these retreat periods, the apartments at Quinta Pomar and Vistamar are reserved exclusively for retreat participants.

Vistamar is a place for those who value aesthetics, cultural heritage, and Mediterranean beauty, while enjoying life surrounded by nature and the sea. Vistamar is located about 30 kilometres from Faro International Airport. The lovingly restored historic country house is located in the Ria Formosa Natural Park near Tavira. The property offers two independent houses, Casa da Alfarrobeira and Casa da Cana, each with 2 bedrooms for up to 4 guests, combining traditional Portuguese architecture with modern comfort. On one side, the view opens onto our natural swimming lake; on the other, it stretches across the lagoon of the Ria Formosa Nature Park, the Ilha de Tavira, and the Atlantic Ocean. Within a 30-minute walk, you will find kilometres of pristine sandy beaches as well as a historic coastal village. Both houses are equipped with air conditioning and wood-burning stoves, providing cosy warmth during winter. Thoughtful design, sustainable materials, and carefully selected artworks from the family’s pri-vate collection create comfortable and stylish spaces where guests can truly feel at home. Handcrafted cement tiles (mosaicos hidráulicos) in the kitchens and bathrooms add delicate ac-cents. They were produced by the last master craftsman in the region, and each tile is a small work of art reflecting Portuguese craftsmanship. In Casa da Cana, traditional reed ceilings and an exposed rammed-earth wall reflect the local ar-chitecture and the history of the house.

Quinta Pomar is a place of connection and inspiration. Nestled between an organic orchard and our swimming lake, it offers ideal conditions for yoga retreats – indoors and outdoors – as well as workshops. A versatile event space for up to 100 people, a professional catering kitchen with both indoor and outdoor dining areas, and terraces with a BBQ kitchen provide room for focus, enjoyment, and relaxation. The experience is further enhanced by yoga equipment, massage services, and plenty of space to breathe. At the same time, our three spacious houses, each accommodating 4 – 6 guests, are also available for relaxed holidays. They feature air conditioning and lovingly designed interiors.

Quintamar is located just 300 metres from Quinta Pomar and Vistamar, yet it remains a retreat in its own right. The four houses and apartments with sea views each accommodate 4-8 guests and are ideal for relaxed holidays with family or friends. The natural swimming lake sits at the heart of the property, offering a peaceful place to swim or linger while watching migratory birds, ideal for guests who prefer not to venture to the nearby sea. Families will particularly appreciate the children’s playground, a small farm animal enclosure, expansive lawns for play, and a basketball court.
