Walk through Porto and you will quickly notice that some walls seem to speak. Covered in intricate patterns, vivid colours and sweeping blue-and-white scenes, Portugal’s famous ceramic tiles known as azulejos transform stations, churches, palaces and ordinary façades into open-air works of art.

For visitors joining us at Porto Salsa Weekend, discovering these tiles is a beautiful way to experience the history and creative spirit of the city between two dances.
