The XIX PaΓ§os’ Premium International Music Competition 2026 is pleased to announce Jill Lawson as a member of its International Jury.
With an international artistic career spanning Europe, the United States and Asia, Jill Lawson is recognised for her refined musicianship, expressive depth and commitment to artistic excellence. Born in Mexico, raised in Belgium and currently based in Portugal, the Portuguese-American pianist brings a unique multicultural perspective to her artistic work.
Awarded in several prestigious national and international competitions, she has distinguished herself through performances marked by natural musical communication and a strong connection with audiences. Her studies took her from Antwerp to Fiesole, Amsterdam and the Peabody Institute in Baltimore, where she completed advanced studies under the guidance of renowned musicians including Leon Fleisher and Ellen Mack.
Alongside an active concert career as a soloist and chamber musician, Jill Lawson has collaborated with distinguished performers and ensembles, maintaining a particular dedication to chamber music. She is a member of the MPQ Quarteto de Cascais and forms the acclaimed Lawson & Lawson Duo with violinist Eliot Lawson. Her artistic contributions are also reflected in a number of recordings dedicated to Portuguese and international repertoire.
As an educator, she regularly gives masterclasses, serves on competition juries and mentors young pianists whose achievements have earned recognition in important competitions. Since 2024, she has been a faculty member at ANSO in Lisbon, continuing her commitment to the development of future generations of musicians.

The XIX PaΓ§os’ Premium International Music Competition 2026 is pleased to announce Tatiana Leonor as a member of its International Jury.
With a distinguished career as a performer and educator, Tatiana Leonor has established herself as a highly respected cellist and pedagogue. Born in CovilhΓ£, she began her musical studies at an early age, developing her training through the Coro Infantil da Beira Interior and later at the Escola Profissional de Artes da Beira Interior. She continued her studies at ESMAE, where she completed a Bachelor’s degree in Music (Cello), and later earned a Master’s degree in Music Education from the University of Aveiro.
An award-winning musician, Tatiana received First Prize in Chamber Music at the PrΓ©mio Jovens MΓΊsicos and has performed with renowned ensembles including Filarmonia das Beiras and Orquestra ClΓ‘ssica de Espinho. Alongside her performing career, she has built an outstanding reputation as a teacher, with many of her students receiving distinctions in national competitions.
Her artistic and educational activities extend to masterclasses, workshops and orchestral training projects, where she is regularly invited as a section leader and mentor. She is also the Artistic Director of the Orquestra de Violoncelos Paulo Gaio Lima, reflecting her commitment to artistic leadership and the development of young musicians.

Since 2014, he has served as principal trombone of the Remix Ensemble Casa da MΓΊsica, while also collaborating regularly with leading European orchestras and contemporary music ensembles.
A prizewinner at several international competitions, his artistic activity ranges from solo performance to contemporary creation and academic research. O Concurso Internacional de MΓΊsica PaΓ§os ’Premium' - que se realiza anualmente - abrange as classes de Trombone, Piano, PercussΓ£o e Violoncelo, e decorre entre 26 de junho e 5 de julho de 2026, no AuditΓ³rio Dr. ArmΓ©nio Carvalho da Academia de MΓΊsica de PaΓ§os de BrandΓ£o (AMPB). Destina-se aos alunos do ensino artΓ­stico especializado da mΓΊsica ao nΓ­vel da Iniciação, BΓ‘sico, SecundΓ‘rio e Superior.
Entre os objetivos do concurso figuram o estímulo ao estudo, a promoção do intercÒmbio de aprendizagens entre alunos de diversos Estabelecimentos Escolares nacionais e internacionais, o incentivo à conquista de novos patamares de desempenho e o desenvolvimento do gosto pela música erudita.
O concurso é organizado pelos departamentos de Cordas, Sopros e Teclas da AMPB, sob a orientação artística de Alexandra Trindade (Presidente da Direção Pedagógica).
