Every time we feel deflated by the current situation with events in our home town of Lisbon, our guests make sure we forget all about it. Last Saturday was yet another proof of how talented people are in Portugal. From the first beat to the last, the sets by LUIS FMR and HYOS at This Side were splendid, and the natural representation of the OCASO vibes by LOBO and Maria at Upside was super on-point. Fortunately we’ve been able to link the two projects at OC and provide a place for everyone to wind down and recharge, and another to fuel the energy and release oneself from the pressures of a fu**ed up world.

Resistance is all we have.

HYOS

Hugo Basílio is the name behind HYOS, a talented producer of rhythmic, textured techno with a moody touch. His work with Analytical Convenience has become a cornerstone of Porto’s underground scene, contributing to the dissemination of local talent across the global techno scene. An artist who “approaches music as a deeply personal form of expression”, and it shows.

LUIS FMR

Luís has been a raver all his life, a lover of African folk and dub above all, he fell in love with the sci fi leaning face of techno over the last decade and has made the switch directly from the dance floor to the booth. Now a resident at the well-known party and label ART BEI TON, his knowledge of groove and sensibility for groove and texture is undeniable. A well-deserved and long overdue debut at SUMMA.

This post comes super late as we prepare for our next event this weekend at OUTRA CENA. The current venue licensing situation in Lisbon is making things difficult for everyone, but we have good news this time! SUMMA and OCASO will happen this Saturday, 20th of June!

As you know, SUMMA and OCASO are places for national talent, for upcoming voices with exquisite taste in music and deep souls, ad this time is no different!

SUMMA

Northern techno pusher HYOS has been a name on our list for a very long time and finally we’ll be hosting the core member of Analytical Convenience at OC. A music maker but also a selector of great taste. Alongside him, local music connoisseur and ART BEI TON resident LUIS FMR. A friend and a regular at our events who deserves to be heard! Closing the night, our cosmic residents CRAVO and ENKŌ. You know what to expect from these two!

OCASO

The atmospheric room at OC will be hosted by OCASO and welcomes the debut of LOBO, the long-standing host of the Gáudio radio show and a delicate DJ who always finds a way to cosy up his sessions with unexpected and amazing music. Monster Jinx affiliate super beatmaker MARIA follows with a live performance of his low-fi hip-hop-driven sound, which he has adapted to fit OCASO especially. An honour, really!

Please come early and support our guests and the venue! The electronic music community in Lisbon has been facing challenges as you most certainly know and every event is important to keep OC and SUMMA afloat and showcase the amazing talent we have in our home country.

Last week our friends at A Cabine shared a small interview with us alongside a recording from the previous SUMMA gathering at OC in September. It’s the first ever SUMMA recording we’re sharing. It was a pleasure to dig a little into our past and explain our connection.

Miguel Mestre’s superpower is to make music and play it live. Seems like a minor feat? It isn’t. His home is Analytical Convenience, a collective and label that’s been putting out some of the most interesting dance music Portugal has produced recently.

A member of Hardware LIVE, he routinely joins 5 electronic friends on stage with no set roles and zero rehearsals, just their best machinery and each other. Together they created something special at Basilar 2025. As the rain came down mid-set, the crowd just kept dancing through their performance. They danced harder, if anything. Miguel called it one of his favourite musical moments ever. We believe him, because you can tell he means it.

This Saturday, M3STR plays live at SUMMA. 02h30-04h00. Come early.

We’re back. Yessir.

After a small hiatus, SUMMA returns to Outra Cena on March 14th for another session of fine dance electronics.

OC has been a keystone for Lisbon’s underground culture over the past 2 and a half years and many projects owe them a debt of gratitude for their openness and support. We do to, and we’re happy to be back and to present such a talent and bring our special light design to This Side. We missed it.

For this session, Enkō and CRAVO invite one of Portugal’s most talented newcomers and one of its biggest musical hopes: M3STR. The member of Hardware LIVE, who last year dazzled the crowd at Basilar Festival with its live improv session of techno electronica, is also part of Analytical Convenience, a collective and label from Porto whose top quality releases have been circling the scene, getting recognition and play time.

Note: M3STR will be playing live, so there will be a warm up and a closing slot either side of his performance which will be handled by the hosts.

SUMMA friends, a quick update.

Our event scheduled for 26 December 2025 at Outra Cena is officially postponed. Recent difficulties with the authorities required a reshuffle at the venue, and after speaking together with the Outra Cena team, we agreed this is the right decision. It gives them the room they need to defend the project and to rearrange part of the programme with clarity and care. Keeping OC afloat and economically viable is everyone’s priority, and ours too!

We stand fully with Outra Cena. The space matters, the work matters, the people matter. Regardless of this postponement, we want to meet you there again under the best possible conditions and are already making plans. We’ll return at the beginning of 2026 with news about our next date.

Thank you for the trust, the patience, and the energy you bring to SUMMA. We look forward to seeing you soon.
