In partnership with Turismo Centro de Portugal, the Câmara Municipal de Ovar, and several local institutions, preparations are underway for the 19th edition of ART&TUR - International Tourism Film Festival (ART&TUR).

This year's festival will be dedicated to cultural themes that highlight the humanities and shared heritage, encouraging new perspectives on cultural promotion and tourism. ART&TUR will once again present multiple competitions running simultaneously:

🏆ART&TUR Global - Award for the Best Tourism Film Worldwide.
🏆ART&TUR Portugal - Award for the Best National Film.
🏆Blogging Fundão - Prize for the Best Blog Publication about Ovar.
🏆ART&FACTORY - Award for the Best Audiovisual Production about Ovar.

ART&TUR is part of CIFFT - the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals https://www.cifft.com, the world's leading network of tourism film festivals. Over the course of four days, the festival brings together top audiovisual producers, filmmakers, marketers, and tourism professionals from around the globe, reinforcing Ovar's position as an international meeting point for excellence in tourism communication.

Paul Eduard Visser is a media producer based in Portugal, active in the industry since 2009. He has produced work for established European broadcasters, including RTP, NTR, RTL, and SBS.

As founder of Colossal Studios, he develops projects with cross-border appeal, while also teaching Applied Storytelling at Nordhausen University of Applied Sciences, Germany, and contributing to research on new media consumption with Banijay Benelux.

Currently completing an Executive Master's in Media Innovation at Breda University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands, he brings both industry experience and academic insight as a jury member at Art&Tur since 2024.

In partnership with Turismo Centro de Portugal, the Câmara Municipal de Ovar, and several local institutions, preparations are underway for the 19th edition of ART&TUR - International Tourism Film Festival (ART&TUR).

"It is truly my honour to have been part of the Art & Tur jury since 2021.

My first encounter with Art & Tur was in 2020 when, as an adventure tourism professional visiting Portugal for the first time, I was welcomed in Viseu with open arms.

At the time, my Drop Zone in Cape Town had been awarded first prize in the Sport & Adventure Tourism category at the International Tourism Film Festival Africa (ITFFA) for our video entry “Let’s Jump out of a Plane…”.

That experience marked the beginning of my love affair with Portugal, which has since become my permanent home.

Since joining Art & Tur as a jury member, I have had the privilege of embarking on countless virtual journeys around the world through the lens of hundreds of remarkable promotional films and documentaries. This has given me the opportunity to witness extraordinary cinematography, inspiring creativity, and captivating storytelling - not only from Portugal, but from diverse regions across the globe, covering a wide variety of topics.

Beyond the cinematic experience, my involvement with Art & Tur has created valuable opportunities to connect and network with a diverse group of passionate creatives - from festival entrants to fellow international jury members, each bringing unique perspectives and cultural insights.

Thanks to the exceptionally well-organised festivals, I have also had the privilege of exploring regions of Portugal I may otherwise never have discovered, including Viseu (2020), Aveiro (2021), Ourém (2022), Caldas da Rainha (2023), Lousã (2024), and Fundão (2025).

Through this journey, I have taken great pleasure in encouraging, supporting, and celebrating many award-winning entries, sharing in the excitement as their achievements are recognised.

I look forward to the Art & Tur Festival 2026 in Ovar, and to many more years as a proud member of the Art & Tur jury.

Art & Tur is more than a festival - it is a global community I am proud to be part of."

"I was very excited and surprised by the number of excellent documentary films last year‘s Art＆Tour. I’m thinking about “Documentary films be tourism films?”

Documentaries can show the lives of the people who live there. These are the tourism resources that differentiates a region from other regions, I think. Because realistic images and stories could motivate people to "want to visit" by their emotions and moving their feelings. I look forward to seeing many wonderful tourism films that will move my emotions again this year!"
