For José Gil, philosophy constitutes the path of a relentless search for the real that makes the world possible. The Portuguese philosopher has explored a wide range of topics throughout his career, which has recently included an incisive analysis of issues surrounding technology and its relationship with politics and art.

Yves Citton tem dedicado a sua carreira a estudar o modo como os Media enformam a nossa realidade. Na ótica do professor e filósofo francês, a perceção e capacidade de atuar sobre a realidade é mediada por uma dimensão tecnológica, que condiciona o que sentimos, pensamos, expressamos e fazemos.

Nesse sentido, o autor introduz a ideia dos media enquanto reconfiguradores contemporâneos, assumindo um papel central na definição de relações de poder. Citton apresenta um colóquio sobre a sua corrente de investigação, tecendo ligações entre poder e tecnologia, numa conversa com a curadora e investigadora Liliana Coutinho.

Yves Citton has dedicated his career to studying how the media shape our reality. From the perspective of this French professor, philosopher, and author, our perception of reality and our ability to act upon it are mediated by a technological dimension that shapes what we feel, think, express, and do.

In this vein, the author introduces the idea of the media as contemporary reshapers, assuming a central role in defining power relations. Citton presents a colloquium on his current line of research, drawing connections between power and technology, in a conversation with curator and researcher Liliana Coutinho.
