Encontros da Imagem, with more than thirty years of existence, is a non-profit cultural association, that promotes annually an International Photography and Visual Arts Festival in the city of Braga, Portugal.

"𝙀𝙣𝙦𝙪𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙤 𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙤 𝙣ã𝙤 𝙢𝙚 𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙧", 𝙉𝙪𝙣𝙤 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙫𝙖

“Enquanto o motivo não me encontrar” é uma exploração urbana de descoberta visual. Um exercício quase terapêutico de procura interior, entre o concreto e a sombra, onde cada cenário emerge como espelho de um estado de espírito que se perde e reencontra na paisagem anónima da cidade.

Como parte do prémio, este projeto integrará a programação oficial da 36.ª edição dos Encontros da Imagem.

“Enquanto o motivo não me encontrar” is an urban exploration of visual discovery. An almost therapeutic exercise in inner searching, between concrete and shadow, where each setting emerges as a reflection of a state of mind that loses and rediscovers itself within the anonymous landscape of the city.
As part of the award, this project will be included in the official programme of the 36th edition of Encontros da Imagem.

“The Happy Hermits”, by Ana Paganini, is a project about Maria and Happy, two hermits who lived in deep communion with nature in Northern Portugal. Through spirituality, healing, and the cycles of life and death, the project reflects on love, belonging, and the connection between human beings and the land.

Throughout today, Ana will share more about this work over at our instagram, presented at the Encontros da Imagem Portfolio Reviews 2025.

• Os fotógrafos selecionados terão a oportunidade de partilhar e receber feedback sobre os seus projetos com profissionais especializados em diferentes campos da fotografia;
• Os projetos fotográficos podem refletir sobre qualquer tema à escolha do autor;
• As leituras de portfólios acontecem presencialmente em Braga, em setembro. Por isso é uma boa oportunidade para conhecer uma nova cidade;
• O vencedor do prémio terá o seu trabalho exposto na edição dos Encontros da Imagem 2027, receberá 3000€ e, ainda, um destaque na revista KATALOG;

𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻" 𝗱𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗱𝗮 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱.

No ano passado, apresentámos no festival a exposição “Lebensborn”, de Angeniet Berkers, vencedora do prémio Encontros da Imagem Portfolio Reviews 2024, no Museu Nogueira da Silva, em Braga.

O projeto oferece uma exploração aprofundada do programa Lebensborn, uma iniciativa n**i criada para aumentar a população ariana em toda a Europa durante as décadas de 1930 e 1940. O trabalho capta as histórias pessoais e o profundo impacto emocional vivido pelas crianças do Lebensborn, entre 15.000 e 20.000, na Alemanha e nos territórios ocupados.

"𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻" 𝗯𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝘀 𝗱𝗮 𝗜𝗺𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱

Last year, we held at the festival the exhibition “Lebensborn” by Angeniet Berkers, winner of the Encontros da Imagem Portfolio Reviews 2024, at Museu Nogueira da Silva, in Braga.

The project provides an in-depth exploration of the Lebensborn program, an initiative by the N***s to increase the A***n population across Europe during the 1930s and 1940s. The project, captures the profound personal stories and the emotional impact on the children of Lebensborn, between 15.000 and 20.000 in Germany and occupied territories.
