This is not a vision; it is a necessity.

The First Global Shiatsu Festival (June 17–20, 2027) is a call to community in a time of disconnection. We gather because lack of connection, inside and outside, is one of society’s deepest vulnerabilities. We gather because inner stress and inner depletion are widespread. And we gather because Shiatsu, working at the interface between body and mind, has the potential to be profoundly useful for these challenges.

We chose Dojo Stara Wieś, because it supports the theme in the body: Japanese architecture, silence, water, forests, spaciousness, and retreat from ordinary life. Here "Emptiness, Meaning & Purpose" becomes lived experience - something the whole community can enter together.

Have you ever walked into a place and felt your nervous system exhale?

Dojo Stara Wieś is not only where the First Global Shiatsu Festival will happen. It is a threshold - Japanese architecture, silence, water, forests, spaciousness, and the feeling of retreat from ordinary life. The land holds you. The tempo changes. And suddenly “Emptiness & Purpose” is no longer only an idea. It becomes something the body can feel and the breath can recognize.

The center sits in central Poland, surrounded by fields and forests, inside the Przedborski Landscape Park. There is room here for practice and for pause: the main dojo built around a Zen-style gravel garden, cottages tucked into nature, a tea house on the shore of a pond and a sauna by the water - simple places where depth can be integrated, not rushed.

This matters. Because a festival about connection needs a container that supports connection. Four days at Dojo Stara Wieś is an immersion in quiet, community and intelligent touch, without the noise of daily life.

Nestled beautifully within the colorful landscape of central Poland’s fields and forests, Dojo Stara Wieś offers a rare combination of silence, spaciousness and inner order. Built in the spirit of traditional Japanese architecture and set across 60 hectares in the heart of the Przedborski Landscape Park, it is a place where the rhythm of nature and the clarity of form meet in deep harmony. More than 20 guest facilities are spread throughout the grounds, yet the heart of the whole experience remains the Dojo itself - a place of practice, presence and quiet transformation.

What is society’s biggest Achilles' heel? A lack of connection; a lack of connection to the inside, to one's own potential, to the core of the soul, to inner wisdom, and equally a lack of connection to the outside, to others, to nature, to the demands of heaven and earth.

How have we lost this connection? The two main causes seem to be inner stress and inner depletion. Inner stress can be triggered by trauma, ADHD and burn out, but also by the new challenges of a time into which we have not yet grown. Inner depletion can result from depression, fatigue or a lack of meaning and fulfilment.

Inner stress and depletion overlap and give rise to each other at the interface between body and mind. Since Shiatsu is a vehicle of change, working precisely at the interface between body and mind, it has the potential to be one of the most useful therapies for these challenges.

We are the missing piece in the search, since intelligent touch is the key to unlocking the mystery. We are there touching the layers of being, the tapestry of life, the representation of the collective experience. We are witnesses to the duality of nature and the profound awe of life. Each Tsubo is an opportunity to awaken the spirit to remember to create life.

We come together to be upgraded, to be empowered, to expand our collective spirit and to own our rightful place in the glory of the discovery, the depth and beauty of emptiness, the connection needed for expansion, to create a secure inner space of non-attachment, either to the self or the material environment, to open a timeless place of connection to all that is, to our essence.
