🐉 Digital Dragons 2026: Round Table
🏛️ As part of the Digital Dragons Conference in Kraków, a Round Table dedicated to the development of the Polish video game industry took place on 19 May 2026. The event was attended by representatives of public administration, universities, industry organisations, and gamedev experts. Discussions focused on three key areas: formal education, informal education, and legal issues affecting the sector's development.
During the proceedings, various topics were discussed, including:
● Opportunities for support and animation of the gaming community, including students on industry-related courses.
● Mapping events and initiatives created by the gaming industry for the gaming industry (e.g. game jams), coordinated by the Creative Industries Institute.
● Support for R&D projects between universities and the industry, concerning technology as well as "content" innovations.
● Development of gamedev teaching, based on business-university collaboration, internships, as well as student research groups and industry circles.
● Amendment of copyright law for the gaming market, alongside issues related to licensing law.
These are merely preliminary proposals, which are expected to take a more concrete shape in the coming days and weeks before being submitted to the relevant entities.
🥇 We invite all institutions interested in joining these efforts to get in touch!
